What are the prerequisites of a successful retrospective? What impediments should be analysed during this meeting? Does the goal of the retrospective influence its format? What are some retrospective formats and what kind of activities do they require for each step? These are some of the questions I will answer during this talk.
Expect a lot of examples which will generate insights on how to create custom retrospectives fit for your team.

Professional Experience
Research Assistant - The University of Arizona, Department of Computer Science May 2015 – Present
Developing an android based health application which aims at helping people to quit smoking through guided imagery
Responsible for providing data analytics regarding usage of the application by generating reports from the server.
Tools and Technologies used are Java, Android, MySQL and Apache Tomcat Server.
Software Developer - The University of Arizona, Campus Health Services April 2014 – March 2015
Implemented the backend of an intranet web application using PHP, HTML and MySQL.
The application handles work orders and supply orders for doctors and other employees.
Improved the ease of usage by implementing a calendar of scheduled appointments and events.
Developed an application for training new employees showing related learning material and also monitor their progress.
Software Engineer - Accenture, Chennai, India Jan 2013 – Nov 2013
Developed data loading modules for an Air Cargo reservation and Pricing application using Java.
Improved efficiency of the product by fixing UI configuration issues.
Ensured consistency of booking and routing information across different routes and clients.
Influential in code quality analysis by using a tool called Sonar which helped to analyze violations made in the code.
Project Experience
Face Emotion Detector – Android Application Jan 2015 – April 2015
Developed using Java, SQLite for database and OpenCV for image processing.
Detects a human face by processing distance between eyes.
Detects the emotion of the person by analyzing the position of the lips along with matching of some reference data.
Change in moods was analyzed by generating a graph of past analysis.
Accelerometer Data Acquisition – Android Application Jan 2015 – Feb 2015
Retrieves accelerometer values of the phone.
Saves the data both in a text file and an MATLAB file along with timestamp at which they were acquired.
The MATLAB file will generate a graph of the accelerometer values when run on MATLAB application.
This concept is used in many gaming applications which use the accelerometer of the phone.
2. Critical Path Calculator Aug 2014 – Dec 2014
The tool written in C++ calculates the critical path for a given pseudo C code.
The critical path was calculated by implementing the Depth First Search (DFS) algorithm.
Highly useful to find the frequency of operation if the given code is to be implemented in hardware.
Force Directed Scheduling Tool Aug 2014 – Dec 2014
A C++ application which generates a synthesizable Verilog code from a C-code with various ALU operations.
The operations are scheduled in the given cycles based on the dependencies among them.
This is a very essential tool to ensure efficient design of ALU operations in the least possible clock cycles.
Multilevel Feedback Queue Scheduling in DLXOS Jan 2014 – April 2014
Implemented Multilevel Feedback Queue Scheduling used by BSD UNIX into DLXOS.
The project scope involved implementing a system call into DLXOS which returns the PID of the process upon the execution.
This was implemented using C-programming in Linux environment.
Memory Management in DLXOS Jan 2014 – April 2014
The DLX Operating System currently supports static one-level page table.
The goal of this project was to extend this support to dynamic one-level and dynamic two-level paging.
This was implemented using C-programming in Linux environment.
Parallel Programming Using MPI and OpenMP Feb 2014 – April 2014
Developed a red-black matrix application which would compute an averaging expression on the red values.
It was implemented in both sequential and multicore environment using MPI and OpenMP libraries.
The speed up for parallel execution was obtained over sequential execution.
Solar Based Lighting Control System using PIC Microcontroller Jan 2012 – May 2012
Built an energy efficient system which uses solar energy to charge a battery used to power a series of light sources.
The charging and discharging process was completely automated using a PIC Microcontroller.
Low power mosfets were used for switching instead of relays which would consume much higher energy.
A battery backup of about 37 hours was achieved.
Certifications
C-Programming from NIIT , Bangalore, India
Installation and troubleshooting of wireless LANs from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Honors and Activities
Received a scholarship for academic excellence from the Ministry of Human Resources of India.
Participated in a Robotics workshop which involved in developing a ball tracking system using Arduino.
Conducted a chess tournament in an annual fest in my undergrad.
