2. The problem
29.8% of people in India suffer from food poverty, and at
the same time, millions tones of food is wasted. Wastes of
food is wasting of money and natural resources , In fact,
India is one of worst waster of food in World.
Supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and caterers contribute
significantly to this figure. This isnโt their fault, itโs just
that uncertain demand means that good food goes unsold.
Disposing of food adds to the already high costs of
running their business.
3. The solution
There are many wonderful organizations helping the
needy in every town in India. On the other hand food
businesses often have good food that they havenโt served
at the end of the day. Often businesses and charities are
unaware that they can help each other. To solve this
problem, Accessfood brings them together in order to
reduce both food waste and food poverty. We do this
with the use of a snazzy app, legal contracts and a
network of businesses and charities willing to restore
some of that old Indian community spirit based on
shared food.
4. What we Do
Access Food connects businesses that have too much food to charities in their
communities that have too little
Its Simple
Using our app, or through our website, participating businesses can upload
details of their surplus food and the time period in which the food can be
collected.
And Effective
This automatically sends a text message to the most appropriate charities in
their community.
The first charity to accept the offer collects it directly from the business.
What are the benefits
Within communities food businesses frequently experience food surpluses, as a
consequence of the modern food system, while charities struggle to provide
food for those who need it most.

๏ I was born rise and study in india
In 2014, I graduated with Engineering
After I quit my job on the first day, I took off to Rostovondon. While working in Russian
organization for 3 months, I identified 3 key problems, which laid the foundation of
Accessfood. The three "Why's" of Accessfood.
๏ Traditional models of donations and charity do not create an impact if there is no
capacity building within the community. For example, more then 40 % of food goes into
waste and same while so many are unable to enjoy its benefits
๏ Projects are not inclusive, the community was never asked about their actual needs &
wants, and hence the accountability and ownership for these projects are very poor.
๏ Accessfood allows food professionals to provide, through internet, supplies of unsold but
still edible food to charitable to feed the peoples donโt have enough to fulfill their hunger
needs.
