This document examines the contribution of foreign institutional investment in the Indian stock market between March 2007 and February 2012. It finds that there is a positive correlation between foreign institutional investment inflows and the BSE Sensex and S&P CNX NIFTY indices, at 39% and 39.6% respectively. Foreign institutional investment was found to moderately affect both of these Indian stock market indices. The document also provides suggestions to simplify procedures and relax barriers for foreign investors to encourage more foreign investment in India.

Theoretical models give an ambiguous picture of how exchange rate uncertainty and volatility affect direction and magnitude of FDI inflows. The main contribution of this paper is in finding that exchange rate uncertainty and volatility may negatively influence the decision to locate investment in transition and accession countries. Nominal exchange rate uncertainty seems to particularly hamper FDI inflows in accession countries. The key finding of this paper is that euro adoption is likely to exert a positive influence on FDI inflows in accession countries.

There are number of ways like Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis and The Efficient Market Hypothesis that helps to know the behaviour of investor which helps to predict future. In this study author used Fibonacci numbers/series analysis which consider for forecasting future stock prices trends. For the purpose of this study four listed companies are selected at random by convenience sampling from Cement Sector for the period of 1st quarter of 2017. Closing prices of open days of market are taken from Karachi Stocks and graphs are made. This study concluded that in four companies of cement sector, there were total 63 support levels out of which 17 (27%) and total 66 resistance level from which 24 (36%) were followed Fibonacci retracements. So the study findings accept the hypothesis that the trend reversals in Cement sector listed in PSX follow Fibonacci retracements to some extent. Analysis of this study showed that there is at least one strong support and one strong resistance in every company and some small resistant and support levels.Working Capital Management

An Empirical Study on the Relationship between Economic Openness and Economic...
Economic openness is the measure of economic activity in the country comprehensive index. How is economic openness indicator measured? Chinese economy has experienced rapid growth for more many years, what is on earth the effect of economic opening on Chinese economic growth? The answer to this question will provide instructive revelation about the selection of Chinese reasonable opening policy. Economic openness is measured by trade openness, foreign investment openness and financial openness in this paper. Based on Solow economic growth model and beginning with foreign trade, foreign investment and financial development, this paper made regression analysis using Chinese data from 1985 to 2004. The empirical analysis indicates that the domestic capital input is still the primary element that promotes Chinese economic growth, by contrast, the effect of foreign trade and foreign investment on Chinese economic growth is faint. Again, financial development on the impetus of economic growth in China has a room to rise.

There are number of ways like Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis and The Efficient Market Hypothesis that helps to know the behaviour of investor which helps to predict future. In this study author used Fibonacci numbers/series analysis which consider for forecasting future stock prices trends. For the purpose of this study four listed companies are selected at random by convenience sampling from Cement Sector for the period of 1st quarter of 2017. Closing prices of open days of market are taken from Karachi Stocks and graphs are made. This study concluded that in four companies of cement sector, there were total 63 support levels out of which 17 (27%) and total 66 resistance level from which 24 (36%) were followed Fibonacci retracements. So the study findings accept the hypothesis that the trend reversals in Cement sector listed in PSX follow Fibonacci retracements to some extent. Analysis of this study showed that there is at least one strong support and one strong resistance in every company and some small resistant and support levels.Working Capital Management

Economic openness is the measure of economic activity in the country comprehensive index. How is economic openness indicator measured? Chinese economy has experienced rapid growth for more many years, what is on earth the effect of economic opening on Chinese economic growth? The answer to this question will provide instructive revelation about the selection of Chinese reasonable opening policy. Economic openness is measured by trade openness, foreign investment openness and financial openness in this paper. Based on Solow economic growth model and beginning with foreign trade, foreign investment and financial development, this paper made regression analysis using Chinese data from 1985 to 2004. The empirical analysis indicates that the domestic capital input is still the primary element that promotes Chinese economic growth, by contrast, the effect of foreign trade and foreign investment on Chinese economic growth is faint. Again, financial development on the impetus of economic growth in China has a room to rise.

This research article analyzes the relationship between Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) inflows and returns of the Nifty 50 index of the National Stock Exchange of India. Daily data on FPI flows and Nifty returns from January 2016 to June 2017 is used to test for feedback trading between the variables using vector autoregression and Granger causality tests. The results suggest that FPI flows are influenced by past Nifty returns but not vice versa. When the data frequency is changed to monthly, feedback trading is not observed. The study aims to better understand how FPI investments impact the Indian stock market and vice versa.

- 1. ABSTRACT Foreign Institutional Investors have gained a significant role in Indian stock markets. The dawn of 21st century has shown the real dynamism of stock market and the various benchmarking of sensitivity indices (BSE Senex and S&P CNX NIFTY) in terms of highest peaks and sudden falls. In this context present project examines the contribution of foreign institutional investment in Indian Stock Market. Also attempts to understand the behavioural pattern of FII during the period March- 2007 to February 2012 and examine the volatility of both indices due to FII. The data for the information obtained from the secondary sources like website of BSE Sensex. We have attempted to explain the impact of foreign institutional investment on stock market and Indian economy. Also attempts present the correlation and regression between FII and both BSE Sensex and S&P CNX NIFTY. Objectives of the study • To study the scope and trading mechanism of Foreign Institutional investors in India. • To find the impact of net investments made by foreign institutional investors on S&P CNX NIFTY. • To find the impact of net investments made by foreign institutional investors on BSE Sensex. • To find the trend of foreign institutional investment Methodology The impact of FII inflows on Indian stock market is to be determined. For this purpose the secondary data is taken on monthly basis from the website. To know the impact of inflows the Karl Pearson’s Co-efficient of correlation and Regression analysis have been used. It would show whether the impact is positive or negative and how much the Indian stock market would vary with respect to FII. For the purpose of calculation SPSS and MS-Excel software have been utilised.
- 2. Major Findings 1. There is a positive correlation between FII inflows and Indian Stock Market. 2. From the data interpretation and analysis we can come to the conclusion that the correlation between the net investment made by foreign institutional investors and the values of the BSE Sensex is 39% and hence the inflow made by FII affects the BSE Sensex. The data collected is from March 2007 to February 2012. 3. From the data interpretation and analysis we can come to the conclusion that the correlation between the net investment made by foreign institutional investors and the values of the S&P CNX NIFTY is 39.6% and hence the inflow made by FII affects the S&P CNX NIFTY in a moderate way. The data collected is from March 2007 to February 2012. Suggestions 1) Simplifying procedures and relaxing entry barriers for business activities and providing investor friendly laws and tax system for foreign investors. 2) Allowing foreign investment in more areas. In different industries indices the FIIs should be encouraged through different patterns like futures, options, etc. 3) Somewhere, a restriction related to the track record of Sub- Accounts is also to be made on the investors who withdraw money out of the Indian stock market who have invested with the help of participatory notes.
