Albert Appouh was born in a Ghanaian immigrant family in Newark, New Jersey. He was only a child when his parents divorced. Later as a teenager, he was institutionalized, went through a diagnosis and was discovered to have a mental disability.

him from immersing himself in
education, community volunteerism
and leadership responsibilities.

philosophies to his coursework,
extracurricular and daily
activities. It is through this that
he has made progresses in life
and the community he lives in.

Realizing this, Albert Appouh has
dedicated his life to philanthropy and
community service telling the world
about the issues facing the people of
Newark, New Jersey. He highlights
some of these problems including
disease, hunger and poverty on his

5. That is not all. He also has started a scholarship fund where the
underrepresented can benefit. The LGBTQ students, first-generation
students, military veterans, working students, parent students, and
disabled students at Rutgers University stand to benefit from this
scholarship.
