 Visiting Scientist, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA. (June
2015- December 2015)
 Worked at Dr. Luis Martinez-Sobrido’s lab on the following
projects.
1. Generated stocks of the VSV ∆ GP GFP-expressing virus to be used
to pseudo type with any viral glycoprotein.
2. Generation of BHK-21 cells and 293 T cells expressing the RNA
polymerase T7 codon optimized.
3. Generated a new version of the VSV∆GP virus that express a fusion
of GFP and Firefly luciferase (Fluc) that can be tracked under a fluorescent
microscope (GFP expression) and quantified using plate readers (Firefly luc
iferase).
4. Although able to express CCHFV GP in BHK-21, Huh7, 293 T
and Vero cells but they were not able to complement VSV∆GP/GFP.
5. Testing of antiviral activity of 53 drugs (previously shown to be
effective against EBOV) against LCMV.
