An Asian woman was attacked on a bus by four teenage girls, with one hitting her in the head with an umbrella. With the Covid-19 pandemic, anti-Asian hate crimes have risen 149% while overall hate crimes have decreased by 7%. Some examples provided include an Asian woman being spat on and having her hair pulled while walking in Manhattan. Hate crimes against Asian Americans are often underreported due to cultural and language differences and lack of trust in police. Prejudices developed from one's upbringing and blaming an entire race for the actions of a few may contribute to discrimination during the pandemic. Resources are provided to track and address anti-Asian hate crimes.
