The production and use of paper has a number of adverse effects on the
environment which are known collectively as paper pollution.
Worldwide consumption of paper has risen by 400% in the past 40 years.
Average person consumes roughly 7 trees per year in paper.
Almost 4 billion trees are cut down each year for paper use.

 Every Sunday, 500,000 trees could be saved if everyone recycled newspapers.
 Recycling 15,000 pounds of paper equates to saving about:
30,000 kw of energy
24 cubic yards of land fill space

52,500 gallons of water
1,950 gallons of oil
