Marta was Mayra's favorite aunt who enjoyed playing with her as a child. One day on a shopping trip, Mayra fell from Marta's bicycle and got a swollen forehead. Marta was afraid of getting in trouble so convinced Mayra not to cry.

Christina Dawn Olson was born in Dexter, Missouri to Sherri and Faron Vaughn, who had her when they were very young. Her father was not around much during her early childhood. When Christina was 7 years old, her mother committed suicide. She and her sisters were placed in foster care in Missouri, sometimes together and sometimes split up.
By age 8, Christina's father wanted to raise the three sisters. They moved to Hamilton, Montana to live with her father and his new wife Sandy, along with Sandy's two sons. However, her father and Sandy fought a lot and the home became unstable. The sisters were placed back into foster care.

Memories of the past
Florence attended Keppel School in her youth and excelled in mathematics, scoring an A* in her PSLE exams. She enjoyed all her teachers but favored her mathematics teacher the most because mathematics was her best and favorite subject. - 2. The Story My mother narrated this heart warming story--- When I was a little girl in India, we used to have a neighbour. Her name was Mrs. Singh. She was an elderly woman, her son was working in another city and her husband had passed away years ago. She had no living relatives anyone knew of. However, nobody felt sympathy of any kind towards Mrs. Singh as she was very bitter and indifferent towards her neighbours. When passing by her instead of smiling she used to scowl. One cold winter evening, there was a knock on our door. It was Mrs. Singh’s helper, Radha who had come to ask for help.
- 3. The Story “Sir, Mrs. Singh is very ill but I am afraid I am of no help. I have two young children at home so I will have to leave but sir, would you be kind enough to take a look at her.” With that my father went to her home immediately. He found Mrs. Singh lying on the floor, struggling to breathe. My father phoned the ambulance and waited. When the ambulance came then my father also went with Mrs. Singh. My father was well-known in the hospital for he used to donate blood quite frequently. Not only did my father call her son but he also stayed by Mrs. Singh’s side until her son came.
- 4. The Story The doctors thanked my father as the doctors told him that Mrs. Singh could have died had he not phoned for an ambulance. When my father came back home to my mother complaining profusely, he had very little to say, “It was not a time to settle old scores and if someone needs help and I can help, I will help.
