Ken Little is a retired senior fire alarm operator and historian who has helped preserve the history of the Chicago Fire Department through his expertise on fire apparatus, firehouses, firefighters from both black and white communities, communications equipment, artifacts, and stories. He continues to promote the local and national history of fire services. The executive secretary of the Chicago African American Firefighters Museum thanked Ken Little for his assistance in helping to learn about and preserve the history of black firefighters in Chicago, presenting him with an award for his lifetime of service documenting the city's fire department history.
