A Prayer Connection Ephesians 1:5-23
A Prayer Connection Ephesians 1:17-19 (NIV) 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe…
A Prayer Connection The purpose of the Book of Ephesians is to show believers their position in Christ and encourage them to walk accordingly. It would seem that the church at Ephesus had become like an exclusive club which separated itself from outsiders. Unfortunately, this mode of behavior has continued to this day. As we continue to attend church it is imperative that we remain sensitive to opportunities where we can share Christ with each other and witness Christ’s purpose and power within our daily activities. Today we will discuss God’s plan, our partner, and the prayer that connects everything together.
A Prayer Connection God’s Plan – Ephesians 1:3-5 Unique Undeniable Unity
A Prayer Connection Our Partner – Ephesians 1:3-14 Priest Prophet Provider
A Prayer Connection The paradox of prayer is that it asks for a serious effort while it can only be received as a gift. We cannot plan, organize or manipulate God; but without a careful discipline, we cannot receive Him either. Henri J.M. Nouwen In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without heart. John Bunyan
A Prayer Connection The Prayer – Ephesians 1:15-23 The Occasion of the Prayer Faith has a sound Faith does not stop Faith commands support
A Prayer Connection The Prayer – Ephesians 1:15-23 The Object of the Prayer Christ Knowing Christ is a priority Knowing Christ is possible Knowing Christ’s purpose
A Prayer Connection Daily – Psalms 5:3 (MSG) Every morning you'll hear me at it again. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar and watch for fire to descend. Three times during each day – Psalms 55:17 (MSG) At dusk, dawn, and noon I sigh deep sighs—he hears, he rescues. Pray all the time – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (MSG) pray all the time
A Prayer Connection Father God, today we thank you for Your plan to comfort, care, and carry me home to be with You. Thank you for establishing a partnership between Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and myself. Your plan, purpose, and partnership enables me to live a life of prayer. My needs are always met. My desires are fulfilled as I fulfill your desire to redeem and reconcile every man, woman, boy, and girl. As you remember me each day, I choose to remember my calling and charge to be a blessing as I share your love and kindness each day. Thanks again, Father God, amen.
