1. College is not high school. Your teacher is not
going to hold you hand.
2. Notes are essential. A teacher’s favorite phrase
in college is “look at your notes”.
3. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

5. ALWAYS use a tutoring lab when you need
help!

4. TIPS FOR NOTES
 Read the book before you go into class and
watch for things that are said that were in the
book.
 Everything on the whiteboard gets written
down unless your teacher tells you otherwise.
 Stay in contact with your favorite teachers (this
includes from high school)! They can save
your lives.

5. TIPS FOR NOTES
 Attend the entire class. Sometimes important
information is given at the end.
 KEEP YOUR SYLLABUS!
 Sit at the front of class.
 Cellphones still aren’t acceptable.
 Recording lectures may be useful, but don’t
rely on it.
 Number the pages of your notes.
