10. SIP Review A Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) is Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) sandwiched between Oriented Strand Board (OSB), Plywood, or Fiber Cement Board (FCB). These are bonded together with a structural grade laminating adhesive. SIPs can be produced in sizes ranging from 4’ x 8’ to 4’ x 24’. All lengths are produced in thickness of 4”, 6”, 8”, 10” and 12”. Quality The combination of the rigid foam insulated core, bonded to an outer sheathing, forms a monolithic structural I-beam. The strength of the panel comes from displacing the load across the structure.

The strength of the panel comes from displacing the load across the structure. How do we make Structural Insulated Panels? The skins are laminated to the EPS core with a two part industrial epoxy. Hydraulic presses are used to apply consistent pressure on the panels. SIPs displace 90% of the load across the structure.
