• We’re delighted to announce the 8th Annual
Get Berkshire Active Awards.
• The GBA Awards have become one of the
premier Berkshire events recognizing great
talent, commitment and endeavor in our
county.
• We celebrate sporting excellence and those
who make sport or physical activity happen in
the local community.
• These high profile awards reach
thousands of people. Over 4,000 online
votes were cast last year.
• Significant press coverage has included a live
‘from the Red Carpet’ broadcast
by BBC Radio Berkshire.

• Our glamorous red carpet gala returns
to the ballroom of the Hilton Hotel
Reading for a sixth year.
• Our guests begin celebrating our award
finalists’ achievements with an evening
drinks reception with sparkling wine and
orange juice followed by canapes.
• The winners are then revealed in the
awards ceremony that takes place
during a three course banquet.

5. • Our capacity audience of 300 people is made
up of volunteers, athletes, clubs, schools,
businesses and orgnisations who promote
sport and physical activity.
• VIPs typically include local MPs, the Lord
Lieutenant and the mayors of all 6 boroughs.
• Previous special guests have included national
and international athletes. Our Special Guest
will be revealed a month before the event.
• Our Event Host will be Tim Dellor,
BBC Radio Berkshire sports correspondent.
