8.3 Sportsmanship
By: Chris Matro
Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship is defined as ethical, appropriate, polite and fair behavior while participating in a game or athletic event.
Owners and Coaches
Owners and coaches of teams should be fair and unbiased in all situations. They
should do what is best for the players. They should never interfere physically in a
game.
Health and Safety
No player’s health should be at risk if not needed to be. All players should be
given the same availability to a medical staff. No player should be able to
intentionally hurt another player without penalty.
Athletes and Community
Athletes along with their community should be respectful to opposing teams. The
community should always support their team. Players should not talk badly about
their community.
Fan Behavior
Fans should not bash or talk trash on their team. If they are a real fan they should
give full support to their team. They should not come in physical contact with
players.
Conclusion
I think the future of sportsmanship is bright. I believe all players, coaches, owners,
and fans will rally together to keep sportsmanship alive. Without sportsmanship
what does sports really even mean?
Sportsmanship picture
I chose this picture because it shows how much it means to fans to even touch
their sport heroes. If that can mean that much then there is no way sportsmanship
can die.
