As a Senior Consultant, Emrah provides advice to national government agencies and private
companies to inform policy-making and strategic decision-making across different sectors
including energy efficiency, renewable energy, power, and Carbon Capture & Storage.
Emrah holds a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge, where his research
focussed on the viability of wind energy in Turkey under the FiT scheme. Before joining

Paul Constantinou has been with Trayport since September 2005 and currently heads sales to
the energy Exchange and OTC Broker community including the development of markets in new
territories. Over a near 20 year period before Trayport Paul worked for a number of the leading
suppliers of systems and services to the global financial and commodities markets. Mostly based
in Europe he has also had long term assignments in New York, Bahrain, Kuwait, Hong Kong,
Tokyo and Sydney. Trayport is a leading provider of energy trading solutions to Traders, Brokers
and Exchanges worldwide. We develop, deploy and support quality, resilient software for trading
in the asset class worldwide in cleared or OTC markets.

his Master’s degree in Engineering Management from University of Missouri. After assuming
positions in renewable energy project development and investment consultancy, he was the
Country Manager of the Turkish organization of AXPO, a leading Swiss asset-backed energy
trading company. From 2012-2015 he worked heading the Trading and Origination Business of
GDF Suez Turkey active in gas and power. He currently works as an independent senior
management consultant within the Energy industry

Birol Ergüven has been leading Limak Energy Group as CEO since 2011 to transform and
establish a vertically integrated energy company especially focusing in Turkey and Balkan region.
He is a BOD member at Hamitabat Electricty Production & Trade Co., Yenikoy Kemerkoy
Electricty Production & Trade Co., all CLK Electricity Retail Companies (four companies that
distributes one third of all electricity in Turkey). Limak Energy Europe in Bulgaria and LC Energy
Supply and Trading Company in Serbia. He also leads the establishment of Energy Traders
Association (ETD) since 2011 where he is founding board member and vice president. In
addition, he is also vice president of Energy Council in Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK)

Istanbul), at DEG - The German Investment and Development Company, a bilateral
development finance institution, 100% owned by KfW. In 1991 he joined DEG, where he
worked in different regions such as Eastern and South Eastern Europe, the Middle East and
CentralAsia. Since January 2011 he is responsible for business origination in Turkey and the
Middle East. DEG provides long-term investment finance in all sectors, with a focus on
renewable energies, general manufacturing, and SME financing. The product range
comprises equity (direct and through funds), mezzanine financing and senior loans with
tenors of up to 18 years.

Mr Süreyya Yücel Özden has 47 years of experience in Turkey’s engineering and
industrial sectors. Mr. Özden currently serves as the Chief Advisor of the Board of
Directors of GAMA HOLDİNG A.Ş. He was the Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Transportation between 1997- 2000, Chairman of the Board and General Director of The
Turkish State Monopolies (TEKEL) from 1984 to 1991. He served as the Deputy
Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance until 1992. Prior to joining to GAMA Endüstri
A.Ş. as the Planning and Investment Coordinator, he acted as the Chairman of the Board
and General Director of the Turkish Nitrogen Industries Corp. Mr Özden served, first, as

Assistant Professor Dr Filiz Katman holds a BS in Economics (in English) from Istanbul

and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shell Energy A.S., the first private
company importing and trading natural gas in Turkey. He has also led Shell's entry in deep
water exploration in the Mediterranean and West Black Sea as well as Shale Oil and Shale
Gas exploration in South East Turkey in partnership with TPAO, the national upstream
company. In Shell, Comert was an Exploration Leadership Team Member in Middle East
and North Africa; a Gas and Power Leadership Team Member in South East Europe.
Comert gained broad experience from the development of the Trans Caspian Gas Project,
gas and power production, storage, LNG and distribution projects and initiated the
Turkey-Greece Gas Pipeline Project, currently supplying gas to Greece via Turkey.
Comert held a BS degree (Mechanical Engineering) and an MBA, a Senior Advanced
Leadership Fellow at Harvard, member of TUSIAD, a former Chairman of PETFORM for

Murat LeCompte has over 25 years of experience in the energy and technology industries.
LeCompte was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and after spending his childhood years in both
Turkey and the U.S., he received his A.A. degree from Bogazici University in Istanbul, and
his B.A. from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. LeCompte worked in the
technology industry for 15 years, in professional services, consulting, and business
development, managing many large-scale projects in both the U.S. and Turkey. He led the
government relations, corporate affairs, and CSR initiatives for technology giants like Intel
Corporation in Turkey. Murat LeCompte moved to the energy industry in 2005, and
undertook roles in corporate communications and government affairs. He is currently the
Director of Communications for BP Turkey. In this role, LeCompte is responsible for
running BP’s corporate affairs, media relationships and corporate responsibility initiatives,

Mr Desai has over 20 years experience within the Energy Sector. He is the CEO of EnBW
Holding AS and an Executive Board Member of Borusan EnBW Energy Joint Venture.
Since the day it was established, Borusan EnBW Energy strategically attaches priority and
importance to the renewable energy resources in its portfolio. It targets to be among the
most valuable energy companies in Turkey through putting into operation its new projects.
Ms Bernard started her career in energy trading and shipping at Mobil Oil Corporation (later
Exxon-Mobil) in 1995. At first a marine fuel oil trader, she later was in charge of the
development of the business in Africa and South America. In 1999, she joined Global
Advisors, a start-up commodities hedge fund, as CFO-COO and Partner in charge of both
the UK and US businesses. In 2008, she joined Massena Capital Partners, the Private
Equity arm of the Massena Group, dedicated to High Net Worth Wealth Management and
fund of family offices based in Paris and Geneva. Ms Bernard, as CFO of the Private Equity
business, was in charge of fund structuring in dual regulatory environment (France and
Luxembourg) and all compliance, internal controls and risk management issues of the

Paul Constantinou Head of Market Development Trayport Graduated from Washington University in St.Louis-USA, as an Electric Engineer, and received his Master’s degree in Engineering Management from University of Missouri. After assuming positions in renewable energy project development and investment consultancy, he was the Country Manager of the Turkish organization of AXPO, a leading Swiss asset-backed energy trading company.
