The document is a circular from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India informing schools about the upcoming International Day of Yoga on June 21st and providing suggestions for celebratory activities. This research is intended to be understood; 1) the urgency of education as an environmentally sustainable development; 2) the background of implementing the adiwiyata school program at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta; and 3) the implementation of the adiwiyata school program at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The research used in this research is qualitative research. The research subjects were the chief coordinator of the adiwiyata team, and the teacher. Determination of research subjects is done by purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out using interview, observation and documentation methods. This type of data analysis uses the Milles & Huberman model, namely reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification of data. The results of this study are; 1) The concept of sustainable development is related to ethical issues, the discussion of the concept of sustainable development in the future (future) and also focuses on the problem of welfare (poverty); 2) There are a number of things underlying the implementation of the adiwiyata school program at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta, both the overall background, philosophical, geographical, juridical, both organizational background; and 3) To support the growth of the values of attention problems in SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta can use four aspects of the Adiwiyata program, such as environmentally sound policies, implementation of environment-based policies, participatory based planning activities and management of environmentally friendly supporting facilities.

It involves provision of free lunch, free of cost to school going children on all working days. Presently in India, 12 crores of students of 12 lakh schools are getting benefit under this programme. In Odisha, the Mid-day Meal programme was introduced on 1st July, 1995 in primary schools. The programme is running in more than sixty thousand primary schools and near about sixty lakh students are getting benefit out of this programme. The programme is managed by Department of School and Mass Education, Govt. of Odisha. Government of Odisha has made systematic departmental arrangement at each level for the smooth functioning of the programme. Steering-cum-monitoring committee in block, district and state level have been formed to monitor the programme. For the enrichment of Mid-day Meal programme, different innovative practices are going on in the state. The slogan of Mid-day Meal programme in Odisha is taken as “Nutrition for Education”.

United Nations has declared 21st
June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ (IDY). It has been a
worldwide celebration for the last 8 years and has effectively facilitated the global
dissemination of the significance of practising Yoga for overall health and well-being and
enduring sustainable lifestyle. The theme for this year is ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva
Kutumbakam’. The domestic tagline for IDY 2023 is ‘Har Aangan Yog’ being propagated to
bring Yoga to every household at the grassroot level. Ministry of Ayush, Government of India

In view of above, you are requested to organize the following suggestive activities to
celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2023:
1. Organize Yoga Workshops and Seminars for students & teachers and encourage
them to practice and adopt Yoga.
2. Mass Yoga demonstration may be arranged on the International Day of Yoga.
3. Quiz and Essay Writing Competitions on Yoga-theme may be organized to create
interest among the students.
4. Encourage students and staff to participate in IDY competitions organized by Ministry
of Ayush on MyGov platform (https://www.mygov.in/) such as Jingle contest,
PM Yoga awards (https://innovateindia.mygov. in/pm-yoga-awards/) etc.
5. Publish Yoga & IDY-specific articles in School’s e-newsletter, bulletin, magazine etc.
6. Yoga Quiz: A Yoga Quiz is being organized by the Ministry of Ayush (MoA), in
collaboration with the MyGov on platform (https://quiz.mygov.in/quiz/international-
day-of-yoga-2023-quiz-2-0/).
7. Yoga Pledge: Ministry of Ayush is encouraging the citizens to take Yoga Pledge

their daily lives.
