Buddha taught wisdom through his teachings and example, but did not actually say some commonly attributed quotes. While Buddha stressed compassion and non-violence, some popular sayings about anger, judging others, or dropping the past were not from his known teachings. His messages of finding peace through moral discipline and understanding impermanence are best understood from his original discourses rather than unattributed sayings.
