2. A New Look at Paradigm
Feeling
Thoughts
Behavior
Habits
3. How Habits help?
• Self-Control
• Improve relationships
• Make smart decisions
• Overcome addictions
• Define your values
• Increase confidence
• Get more done in less time
• Be happy
• Balanced life
5. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“…Allah does not get tired (of giving rewards)
but (surely) you will get tired and the best deed
(act of Worship) in the sight of Allah is that
which is done regularly.” (Bukhari)
18. Habits are not Destiny!
• Can be ignored, changed or replaced
• A developed habit stops brain to fully
participate in decision making
• Deliberately fight bad habit, to make new
patterns
• Habits never disappear; Brain cannot
differentiate between good and bad habit

Invite (all) to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and
beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are
best and most gracious: for thy Lord knows best, who have
strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance.
(An-Nahl:125)
32. Our Intentions are Important

He Who created Death and Life, that He may try
which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted
in Might, Oft-Forgiving (Al-Mulk:2)
33. َّل لَعْجَي َ َّاَّلل ِقَّتَي َِم َوُهااجَرْخَم
And for those who fear Allah, He (ever) prepares
a way out, (At-Talaaq: 2-3)
35. Steps to Habit loop
• Identify your routine
• Experiment with your rewards
• Isolate the cue: Location, Time, Emotional State, Other People,
Immediately preceding action
• Have a plan: “When I see CUE, I will do ROUTINE in order to get a
REWARD.”
