This weekly report summarizes the progress made on a student project to design a circuit to control the heating phase of a coil in an electric kettle. The student designed a circuit using an opto-isolator to use low power to trigger a triac, which would then control the high power to the heating coil. The student researched the characteristics of triacs and opto-isolators from datasheets. The main problem is designing the circuit to be compatible with the coil. Next week, the student will design the circuit to be compatible with and test it with the real coil.

Overall : This week. I work circuits about My project”kettle”.In project I have work “Control
Phase”Circuit by . Process Circuit to control phase power for hot coil. Because I want to boil water by
Coil.I design circuit in figure 1.This Circuit use lowpower to trigger “Op-to Isolate” to control High Power.
And Use “Triac“ Control phase power for hot coil. Triac Characteristics is Alternating Current And you
must trigger Triac for Active Triac.And I Calculation Watt from Coil in My project”kettle”.
Enginerring knowledge : This week I have been looking for information about “Triac“ and “Op-to Isolate”
to design circuit “Control Phase”.And I know Characteristics “Triac“ and “Op-to Isolate” standard from
Datasheet.
My problem : circuit degin Incongruous coil.I must think to Compatibility.
