2. SmartSeal’s easy to follow five-step process will not only totally
transform the look of old block-paved driveways and patios, but
could save you thousands of pounds by avoiding the need for
expensive replacement.
With exposure to the weather, damaging UV light, wear and
tear and pressure washing, most block paving - after around 20
years - has lost most of its colour, leaving the driveway or patio
no longer a focal point or valuable asset to the home.

3. The process is simple!
Step 1 is to pre-treat with SmartSeal DriveClean or PatioClean Xtreme60.
These are powerful cleaning products with 4 active ingredients, that enable the block
paving to be cleaned quickly and effectively, without the need for intensive pressure
washing. If weeds are present, treat with weed killer approximately 7 days
beforehand.
60 minutes after application, clean with a pressure washer, ensuring that all muck
and weeds have been removed from the joints. This completes step 2 of the
process.

4. Once the block paving has been left for a few days to thoroughly dry, move onto step 3. One coat of
Block Magic, applied by roller, with a paint brush for the edging, is normally all that’s required to
totally re-colour the pavers. Block Magic is a high performance restoration product that not only
colour, but also seals and protects block paving.

5. …Discovering block magic!
• Block Magic should not to be confused with a concrete paint. Once applied, it will
soak into the pavers, and unlike a paint, will not peel, flake or chip off. With its unique
formulation of concentrated liquid pigments, combined with high quality acrylic resins,
Block Magic will remain coloured fast for at least 5 years, with a long lifespan of the
product guaranteed.
• Block Magic is fast-drying. After only 1-2 hours, step 4 of the process can commence.
Sweep kiln-dried sand neatly across the blocks, ensuring all joints are filled, making
sure no sand is left on the surface.

6. A complete transformation!

Step 5 is to apply a second coat of clear
sealer by sprayer or roller. This not only
protects the blocks further, but sets the
sand in the joints rock solid, providing
extra strength and stability, whilst also
helping reduce future maintenance and
providing protection from weeds.
And that’s it - a complete transformation!
The driveway or patio now looks amazing,
as good as new! The surface can be
walked on after 2 hours and driven on
after 24 hours.

7. With an occasional application of diluted DriveClean60 or
PatioClean60 and a top-up coat of protective sealer every few years,
any thoughts of replacing the block paving can be forgotten.
