People flooded through E. 4th Street today. The alley has been packed with crowds the past
three days of the convention.
Attendees of the convention, press, protesters, and observers have all added to the energy
surrounding the convention entrance.
Protesters have used the intersection of E. 4th and Prospect Ave. for their displays.
Today their was heightened buzz surrounding rumors of a flag burning.
This didn’t stop other individual characters from coming out to protest their unique
messages.
A man in a plastic Hillary Clinton mask stood proudly at the intersection. He held a large
yellow sign with the words “Trump vs Tramp” written in big black letters. A smaller white
sign is displayed above it with the message, “Hillary for prison” on it.
He is 74-year-old Bob Kunst of Miami Beach, Florida. Kunst is the President of Shalom
International. From 2003 to 2008 he was the president of Hillarynow.com.
Today he held two signs protesting the Democratic candidate. Kunst explains he disagrees
with her views on dividing Jerusalem, and believes she has supported Hamas.
“Both parties are full of it and everyone knows it,” he said. Kunst explains Trumps policies
on illegal immigration are what have gained his support.
Other protesters have had less aggressive messages. Comedy has been a preferred method
by some groups.

Two men stood a few feet away of Kunst, fully costumed. One man wore a blue turban, with
a full Captain America inspired outfit. The man next to him wore an ill fitting brown wig.
The pair said they’ve been in Cleveland since Friday. They are with a group of cartoonists
who create cartoons to respond to racism.
45-year-old Vishavijt Singh is visiting from New York, he says despite his turban and long
beard everyone has been friendly towards him.
“I’ve had republicans come up to me and ask me questions,” said Singh, who is against
Trump. “He’s bringing out the worst in us.”
The two said they thought the convention would have brought out more protesters. Vishavijt
grinned widely, “Personally I think it’s like a carnival.”
