Kenneth Feldman (1988) did a meta-analysis of 31
studies in which teachers and students identified
characteristics they associated with good teaching
and effective instruction. He found that students
emphasized the importance of teachers being
interesting, having good communication skills, being
available, and helpful.

Effective teaching is more than the transfer of

students, but effective teaching also ensures that
the learning that the previous student has can
increase so that students can learn to analyze,
develop, create, and understand the learning.
Students also have the initiative to continue to
learn and develop as independent learners.
