It addresses the interlocking challenges of peak petrochemicals, climate change, food and land crises, and socioeconomic issues. It argues that market forces alone are inadequate to solve these six major problems and that governments will need to use policy tools like mandates, incentives, and procurement to guide innovation through interactions between multiple public and private actors.
