This document provides the preface to the revised edition of the book "Brain Train: Studying for Success" by Richard Palmer. In the preface, Palmer discusses some of the changes he has made to the new edition compared to the original from 1984. He notes that he no longer has a student co-author but aims to still take a pro-student perspective. He also expresses that while study skills are recognized as important, they are not systematically taught. As an example, he shares a story of students having received little guidance on reading skills since primary school.
