Peter gets washed away from the beach by a big wave and finds himself stranded on a deserted island. He uses materials he collects like wood, leaves, and string to build shelter and tools to survive. After a restless night dreaming of food, Peter sees a girl fishing in the ocean with his net. Angry, he swims out and retrieves the net. Realizing he needs to get home, Peter builds a boat out of logs and bamboo and paddles for two days, eventually spotting surfers and a beach that signal he has returned home.

1. The Big Escape

2. On a bright Wednesday after Peter had finished school, he
decided to go to the seaside.

3. He played in the sand and went boogie boarding. When he went
to the car where his mom was he saw his friends and decided to
go and say hello. A big wave came and washed him away and
suddenly he found himself on an island. Peter did not know
where he was. Peter went for a walk and collected some
wood, logs leaves and some string.

4. He found a big piece of material and a little bit of sticks .
The wood was for fire. The logs were for shelter. The
leaves were for fans. The string was for a net for food and
the big piece of material was for clothes.

5. When it became dark Peter made a fire and snuggled tight
under a coconut tree. Peter started to dream about
coconut, milk, fish, nuts and blueberries.

6. So Peter got up in the middle of the night and went to look
for food. He heard splashes of water in the sea. He saw a
girl fishing with his net.

7. He got really angry and marched right up to the ocean. He
plopped his feet in one by one and dived in. He grabbed his
net into his hands and swam away with it Then he peeped
out and looked around. He couldn’t see a thing - nothing at
all!

8. So he went outside and looked at the sea. He cried and wished
he was home in bed. He saw something glowing and just sat down
and thought. He decided that if he collected logs sticks bamboo
and more he could build a boat. So he did that and when the
boat was finished he made two long paddles with left over logs.
When he put the boat into the water thought he wouldn’t make
it home after two days. He looked in the sky and thought am I
home. He looked forward and saw surfers and a beach and
people. Oh he knew he was home he ran and saw a skate board
and skated home and lived happily ever after.
