3. MUMPO Orientation State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) Schedule: Draft STIP will cover the 12-18 Fiscal Years Anticipated Draft TIP should be adopted in July 2011

4. State Transportation Improvement Program Facts: Statewide Equity Budget is Projected to be $9.21 Billion. Does not include Loop Program Dollars Does not include Public Transportation Dollars Or Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality Dollars

5. State Transportation Improvement Program Division 10: Our 10 Year Work Plan Proposes to Bring $2,659,500,960 into our Region.

6. Also we are currently working on a new Loop Prioritization process as well as the Mobility Fund Prioritization. This could bring additional dollars to the region.

8. R-2248E The last roadway section of I-485 and in conjunction with R-2123CE will complete the 485 loop. Contract to be let to bid May 28, 2010. $185 Million Let To Contract

9. R-2123CE Interchange of I-485 and I-85. The other project to complete the loop. High speed design interchanging freeway to freeway. Contract to be let to bid September 2, 2010. $155 Million LetToContract

10. I-3803B Widening of I-85 from interchange with I-485 to the interchange with NC 73. Project is 5.5 miles long and will widen to an 8 lane section. Contract to be let to bid August 5, 2010. $200 Million LetToContract

11. R-2248H Complete interchange at Garrison Rd and will serve both CLT Airport and Norfolk Southern Inter-modal facility current under construction. Good example to partnership with both the Airport and Railroad. Will be completed before Inter-modal facility opens. Contract to be let to bid July 2010. $1.5 Million LetToContract

12. U-0209B Converting Independence Blvd. to Expressway from Albemarle Rd. to Conference Drive. Will provide for center lanes for future transit and/or managed lanes. Contract to be let to bid July 2012 with R/W beginning May of this year. $170 Million R/WUnderway

13. R-4902 Widen I-485 from existing 4 lanes to 6 lanes with auxiliary lanes between Johnston Road and NC 51. 6.6 Miles Current Let Date is scheduled for FY 2014. With an Anticipated Cost of $70 Million. LetDateMovedtoFebruary2012

14. I-4733 Reconstruction of Catawba Ave. interchange with I-77. Originally proposed as new interchange at a cost of $35 million. Has a federal earmark of $5 million. Looking at the use of a Diverging Diamond design which will reduce cost to $6 million and will use the existing bridge.

15. Monroe Bypass The Monroe Bypass; this will be a Design Build contract administered by the Turnpike Authority. RFQ Advertisement April 15, 2010 Bid Opening October 22, 2010 Approx. Cost $750 million

16. Rail Projects Two rail projects will be let to contract within next two years as part of the $545 million NC received through competitive ARRA grants. 12 Double track as part of high speed rail. Norfolk Southern/CSX grade separation $250 million

17. I-5405 I-277 (BROOKSHIRE FREEWAY) TO WEST CATAWBA AVENUE (EXIT 28). CONSTRUCT HIGH OCCUPANCY TOLL (HOT) LANES AND CONVERT EXISTING HIGH OCCUPANCY VEHICLE (HOV) LANES TO HIGH OCCUPANCY TOLL (HOT) Estimated Cost $64 Million

18. I-3802A Widening of I-85 for the existing 4 lanes to 8 lanes from NC 73 to Rowan County Line. New Let Date January 2013 from last TIP of 2017. Estimated Cost $120 Million.
