4. 2. Facilities
1) Ajou Global Education Lounge
: Global Education Lounge was designed to encourage
international and local students to meet and exchange their
culture in order to broaden their global perspectives.

English/Korean magazines and newspapers
2) University library
* The general studying area is opened 24 hours day throughout
the year and the periodical room is opened from 09:00~21:00
during weekdays and 09:00~17:00 during weekends.
3) Cafeteria & Restaurants
: There are many places to eat on campus. Besides the dormitory
cafeteria, there's several eating places on the campus. Also there
are small snack areas on the lst floor of Dasan Hall and Sungho
Hall, and at the basement of Yulgok Hall.
4) PC labs on Campus
: There are many PC labs on campus, where you can use the
computers for word processing, internet, and so on. Also, there is
a PC lab in the 1st floor of dormitory where you will be placed.
The PC labs are provided with the printer and you are required to
bring your paper.

: Ajou international Health Care Center provide total care of
medical and communication service with multi languages including
English.
7) Sports Facilities
: There is gymnasium and the cost for the health club is
30,000KRW for 3months. Also residents in Hwahong Hall
(international dormitory) can use the gymnasium of the basement
ofHwahong Hall and the fee can be changed with the notice.

1. Campus Life
1) Dormitory
A. All successful applicants will be given a chance to live in the dormitory.
Students can select their own living places if they choose.
B. Aside from the dormitory staff, administrative staff member of the Office of
Int'l Affairs and Korean Language teachers will stay in the dormitory to
support you.
C. Three twin rooms are in one apartment each. You will share the apartment
among six students, and your roommate will be a Korean student.
D. Facilities
Dormitory cafeteria, communal kitchen(free of charge), snack store,
convenience store, gym.
E. Cost: 185,000 KRW (165 USD) per month in (Fall semester of 2012)
2) Others
A. Buddy Program
1:1 buddies with Korean students to help your stay in CJU and enhance
your Korean language and knowledge of Korean culture.
B. Mentoring Program
Students starting their regular courses will be matched in groups of 5
foreign students. A Korean student will be in charge of each group, acting
as guide for student life at CJU.
C. Korean Language Program Attendance
KGSP students are allowed to attend Korean Language program during free
periods, free of charge.
2. Important Notes
1) Eligibility for Application
A. Common eligibility
(1) All applicants must be eligible for the 2013 KGSP program, and have at
least a TOPIK Level 3 before beginning their courses.
(2) Masters' applicants must have an undergraduate degree from a 4-year
university while Doctorate applicants should have a Master's degree from
an authorized institution.
B. Required Documentation
original copy of all documents required by the NIIED for the KGSP
program application.
C. Selection Procedure
(1) Document screening and interviews will be conducted for evaluation.
9. (2) The Division of Arts and Sports can ask for performance tests. Each
candidate will be notified if this is the case.

Ⅲ. Campus Guide & Important Notes
1. Dormitory
1) For a comfortable and convenient campus life, Chosun University
offers Baek-hak-hak-sa, Global House and Green village which
together accommodates up to 2,276. Green Village offers communal
kitchens allowing students to prepare their own meals or cook with
their roommates

3) Facilities: a single bed (with drawers) with sheets, a desk with a
book-shelf, a chair, a closet(mirror and shoe-rack attached), LAN
cable, a telephone, vertical curtain, and air conditioner, cooking facility
4) Students shall prepare a blanket, a pillow, a bed pad, a cloth hanger,
soaps and a toothbrush, etc.
5) Convenient Facilities: Internet room, library, gym, laundry room, common room,
shower room, school store etc.
6) Notice: All students who stay in the dormitory must get medical
check-up before entering.
2. Tutoring Program
- For international students to easily adapt to their new life at Chosun
University and in Korea, we support them through a tutoring program,
which matches international students with Korean students from the
undergraduate school.
3. Korean Cultural Travel
- CU offers special cultural trips per year to international students to help
adapt to and understand Korean culture. International students at
Chosun University often participate in these trips as they offer a great
chance to view the beautiful scenery of Korea to build relationships.
4. Important Notes
1) Eligibility for Application
- Applicants who have Korean language score(TOPIK, KLPT) or English
score(TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS) in the first selection give extra points,
those who only have language score.
2) Application Procedure
A. Admission decisions are based on the candidate's academic achievements
and potential, as well as his/her personal accomplishments. The
admissions committee reviews a number of factors including records of
past studies (such as GPA), study plan, personal statement, language
proficiency and letters of recommendation.
B. If the applicant is applying to field of the College of Fine Arts, the
College of Music, the Department of Physical Education or the Fine Arts
Education, the applicant may have other procedure such as telephone
interview, written test or practical test with their classmates.

1. Residence Hall
Chung-Ang University houses Korean Government scholars in the on-campus student
dormitory which opened in 2010. Both Korean and international students live in the
dormitory to provide an international atmosphere. The monthly rent is around $300
26. USD for a 4-person room with four beds and $350 USD for a 2-person room with
two beds. A meal plan is included within the dormitory fees.
2. Important Notes
▷ All application documents must be original or properly certified
