3. Education at the Lebanese University
• Lebanese University LU was funded in 1953
• LU involves 16 faculties and institutes and three
doctoral schools
• LU is a multi disciplinary university with
multisite distributed all over the country

4. Education at the Lebanese University
• A minimum of 51 majors are given in the university,
• Several master and PhD degrees
• These majors go from social sciences to exact and
engineering sciences
• Multiple cooperation and memorandum with regional,
European, and international institutions .

5. Diplomas at the Lebanese University
Since 2004 many efforts are done at the
LU to implement the LMD (3, 5, 8 years)
European educational scheme with ECTS
credit transfer system.
