Ledesma John Dominic E. completed a BFA-3B coursework involving the creation of totems made from epoxy clay that were challenging to mold but became smooth through sandpapering and painting. According to his artist statement, he admires totems and other items of power not for what they promise users but for how they are made and the symbols they represent, and so he created these totems as a reminder of who he is and what he stands for.

My name: Ledesma John Dominic E.
Course I completed the work in: BFA-3B
My finished piece:
How I made my work:
The experience was lovely, making things for my friends is always a joy. The epoxy clay was a challenge to
mold as it becomes sticky after you mix it. Sandpapering the totems and painting over them made the surface
smooth and gentle to the touch and when it dried I simply drew on them using my white pen for extra details.
My Artist Statement
Totems, anting-antings and other items of power were always something I admired but not for what they
promise to give to the user but to the way they were made, the beauty they show and not to mention the symbols
they propose and bestow upon the person wielding it. Hence why I made these, as a constant reminder for what
I am and for what I stand for.
