After a challenging 7 hour journey crossing a suspension bridge, a group arrived in Pensiangan village where they were welcomed with a home cooked meal by the local ladies. The group set up a medical registration counter manned by volunteers and included screening stations. Medical professionals including doctors, dentists, dispensers, and counselors worked hard throughout the day seeing 235 patients for checkups, prescriptions, dental work, eye exams and counseling. After a tiring day, the group packed up and took a 90 minute boat ride down the river to their next destination, Kg Inakaak village, arriving as the first view.

2. After a 7 hour journey, crossing the Pensiangan single span,
suspension bridge is a challenge. It was shaky, especially
when a few people walk across together, carrying 20 kilos. As
we arrive, walking to our sleeping quarters across the river

3. The ladies in Pekan Pensiangan cooked a sumptuous dinner
for us, as a welcoming dinner. They were most hospitable. All
local home cook favourates

4. The crowd streamed in slowly. Maybe housewives doing their
shopping at the sundry shops nearby.

5. Registration counter was set up at a platform in front of room.
It was manned by the Impian Volunteers.

6. The first counter, as usual, is the screening counter of BP, BMI
and g/m, under the care of S/N Mona Lim. Aided by 3 others

7. The dispensers hard at work. They worked hard to fill the
prescriptions and also counsel their use.

They also had to handle birds flying overhead.

10. A steady crowd streaming in throughout the day. Worked
8am-2.30 pm. Took care of 235 patients. Short Lunch in
between.

14. It is 2.30 pm. Time to pack up and move, down river to Kg
Inakaak ( near the Indon border ). We worked hard. Prelim
report says that we saw 235 patients. Not bad for a day’s
work

20. The river is shallow, full of rocks and depression. The front
boatman, steers to keep us safe.

21. Some parts of the river feel like white water rafting, when we
sail through a depression

22. After about 90 mins on the perahu, we arrive at Kg Inakaak.
