God is presented as an intimate personal God who formed man from clay and placed him in a beautiful garden to live with everything he needs. God created man and woman as equals to live in community and relate to one another. They were given stewardship over creation and intended to have a close relationship with God, but yearned for intimacy with each other as well. The second creation story provides insights into how early believers understood God and humanity's purpose.
