This document outlines a statistics curriculum for 4th year students focusing on analyzing crime data from 2008-2009 provided by the local city police office. The learning objectives are for students to translate the crime data into graphic representations, accurately interpret the results, and present their findings to stakeholders. Students will request the crime data, tally and consolidate the information by crime type and month. They will identify the top 5 crimes and compute various statistics on those crimes. The class will be divided into groups, with 5 analyzing the top crimes through graphs, measures of central tendency, variance, regression, and time series analysis. Accuracy will be assessed through checks with statistical software.
