Introduction
 Justin Trudeau felt a social license for oil which includes carbon tax would lead to the promise land when
it comes to UN (i.e. agenda 2030) - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/agenda-2030-sustainable-
development
 Canada is the 4th largest oil producing country with a strong environmental and humans right record. So,
why is Trudeau not pushing oil to the word?
 Canada could eliminate the oil sands today and it would do nothing for global emissions
 There needs to be a broader discussion on natural resources management including all aspects of the
environment along with human rights.
 UN needs to stop pushing Agenda 2030 at all cost.

Electrical Car Market
Source - https://insideevs.com/half-worlds-electric-cars-in-just-25-cities/
According to the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), nearly half of all plug-in electric
passenger cars are used in just 25 metropolitan areas.
At the end of 2017, the number was 1.4 million out of 3.1 million, which translated to around 45% in those
25 cities.
That’s pretty interesting, especially since overall, those 25 markets represent only 12% of the world’s
passenger car sales. In other words, there are important reasons that make plug-ins appealing in certain
metro areas.

Blog - Oil and Environment
This is what I told a Liberal/NDP/Green Follower
 Too many people have no clue how money flows but will protest anything that goes against their belief that carbon is bad.
 Here is exactly what happens:
 You do realized that only
 Do you understand tax code? Oil earns an income which is subjected to tax. Oil gets deductions for CCA, Royalties, payroll taxes, etc. So, where are these subsidies? Clean
Technology gets direct subsidies. I suggest you go read what a subsidy means and stop trying to say tax deduction are subsidies.
 Here is the annual report - https://www.suncor.com/investor-centre/financial-reports/annual-disclosure. Show in this report where there is direct business subsidy
 Direct Business subsidies is when a government gives a direct grant to a business - https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/subsidy.asp
 Government has given out direct subsidies to clean technology for years - https://www.forbes.com/sites/williampentland/2018/04/29/federal-subsidies-for-solar-and-wind-
fell-sharply-in-recent-years-says-new-report/#3d6c8611fa9a and you say nothing
 All businesses follow the ITA as part of eligibility for deduction.
 Auditor-General has called out failed hydro subsidies - https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/the-ontario-power-systems-broken-auditor-general
 100% renewable? https://globalnews.ca/news/4207036/ontario-green-party-platform-conservation/ . Canada gets 80% of their power from clean sources. 100% would never
work as it would not be affordable.
 Tax Avoidance? Does this mean green will change the whole tax code? The party would also spend $4.1 billion over four years on mental health services, which they say they
could help pay for by improving collections and reducing tax avoidance?
 They would also mandate 20 per cent of units in new housing builds be affordable, expand the protected land known as the Greenbelt, and spend more money on transit. –
There are systemic issues with real estate including land, permits, construction costs - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/real-estate-canada-march-2019
 Old economy? “We need to skate to where the puck is going, and not where it’s been,” Leader Mike Schreiner said. “The other parties are clinging to an old economy, but we
see a better way forward – GDP is made up 30% goods producing. Goods producing jobs pay on average 40% more than service sector -
https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/canada-gdp-january-2019
 . A centerpiece promise is a $4.2-billion program to give grants and loans to businesses and homeowners for energy conservation. – This will do nothing if hydro rates go
through the roof. There are already incentives via CCA and/or other options to business.
 Canada oil is both ethically and environmentally more friendly that other jurisdictions around the world - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/2019-election-
environmental-climate-change-canada-analysis-and-commentary
 I suggest stop believing everything you read as the information from pro-green firms is far from accurate in terms of how businesses operate based on tax, regulatory and
accounting reporting requirement
Blog – Scheer and Oil
 https://www.canadianmanufacturing.com/environment-and-safety/baloney-meter-a-lot-of-baloney-in-scheer-statements-on-energy-independence-233536/
 “Patrick Baylis, an environmental economist at the University of British Columbia’s school of economics, said reducing foreign imports of oil to
Canada would likely require construction of expensive and ecologically risky cross-country pipelines – something Scheer seems to acknowledge.”
Or “I’m puzzled by it,” said David Detomasi, an associate professor at Queen’s University’s business school in Kingston, Ont.
 Canada has the oil and gas resources to be self-sufficient, but the notion of building a separate energy market “kind of flies in the face of pretty
much everything that we’ve done economically for the past 50 years.”
Analysis:
 Canada is not getting full value for its oil due to price discounting. The full value of oil is not mentioned in this article - https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/economic-cost-of-

Blog – NewAssessment Bill – C69  Ecojustice lawyer Joshua Ginsberg says Bill C-69 as originally written struck a delicate balance on the need for Canada to build major new energy and transportation projects without harming the environment or contributing further to climate change.  There is no balance with this bill as then environmental groups forced more assessments into any natural resources projects.- https://www.canadianmanufacturing.com/environment-and-safety/environment-lobby-says-senators-letting-oil- industry-run-amok-on-assessment-bill-232638/  First nations cannot hold up natural resources projects - https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/supreme-court-indigenous- energy-sector-pipelines-1.4221075 - Consultation needs to be done  The new assessment process does not deal with tankers coming from middle east. Blog - Oiland Environment This is what I told a Liberal/NDP/Green Follower  Too many people have no clue how money flows but will protest anything that goes against their belief that carbon is bad.  Here is exactly what happens:  You do realized that only  Do you understand tax code? Oil earns an income which is subjected to tax. Oil gets deductions for CCA, Royalties, payroll taxes, etc. So, where are these subsidies? Clean Technology gets direct subsidies. I suggest you go read what a subsidy means and stop trying to say tax deduction are subsidies.  Here is the annual report - https://www.suncor.com/investor-centre/financial-reports/annual-disclosure. Show in this report where there is direct business subsidy  Direct Business subsidies is when a government gives a direct grant to a business - https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/subsidy.asp  Government has given out direct subsidies to clean technology for years - https://www.forbes.com/sites/williampentland/2018/04/29/federal-subsidies-for-solar-and-wind- fell-sharply-in-recent-years-says-new-report/#3d6c8611fa9a and you say nothing  All businesses follow the ITA as part of eligibility for deduction.  Auditor-General has called out failed hydro subsidies - https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/the-ontario-power-systems-broken-auditor-general  100% renewable? https://globalnews.ca/news/4207036/ontario-green-party-platform-conservation/ . Canada gets 80% of their power from clean sources. 100% would never work as it would not be affordable.  Tax Avoidance? Does this mean green will change the whole tax code? The party would also spend $4.1 billion over four years on mental health services, which they say they could help pay for by improving collections and reducing tax avoidance?  They would also mandate 20 per cent of units in new housing builds be affordable, expand the protected land known as the Greenbelt, and spend more money on transit. – There are systemic issues with real estate including land, permits, construction costs - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/real-estate-canada-march-2019  Old economy? “We need to skate to where the puck is going, and not where it’s been,” Leader Mike Schreiner said. “The other parties are clinging to an old economy, but we see a better way forward – GDP is made up 30% goods producing. Goods producing jobs pay on average 40% more than service sector - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/canada-gdp-january-2019  . A centerpiece promise is a $4.2-billion program to give grants and loans to businesses and homeowners for energy conservation. – This will do nothing if hydro rates go through the roof. There are already incentives via CCA and/or other options to business.  Canada oil is both ethically and environmentally more friendly that other jurisdictions around the world - https://www.slideshare.net/paulyoungcga/2019-election- environmental-climate-change-canada-analysis-and-commentary  I suggest stop believing everything you read as the information from pro-green firms is far from accurate in terms of how businesses operate based on tax, regulatory and accounting reporting requirement
