Internet access and social media usage via mobile devices averages 3 hours and 2 hours 52 minutes per day respectively. The telecommunications industry revenue in Indonesia is expected to grow to IDR 140 trillion by 2020, fueled by growth in data services and changes to operator business models. However, challenges remain around infrastructure bottlenecks, the digital divide, developing upstream and downstream industries, workforce skills, and ICT adoption among small- and medium-sized enterprises.
