Companion PowerPoint presentation to the 2016 "Elevate Montgomery County" fundraising campaign by the Montgomery United Fund For You in Montgomery County, Indiana.
3. In 1970, a collaborative effort among local citizens to
raise funds for social services became the
Montgomery United Fund For You.
4. Since that time, MUFFY has raised over $13.7 million
dollars for the Montgomery County community.
5. 2014: MUFFY Gives $16,000 to New Beginnings
Child Care, helping over 100 families find secure
quality childcare and keep their jobs.
6. 2015: MUFFY receives a check from the Youth
Service Bureau’s Youth As Resources group
fundraiser.
7. 2014: Pace Dairy Foods raises over $44,000 for
MUFFY. In 2015 they raised over $50,000,

10.
11. MUFFY can invest in the positive growth of our
community because YOU invest in MUFFY.
12. MUFFY was established to make it easier and more
convenient for donors to give to one united fund.
13. Instead of fielding hundreds of individual charity
solicitations, MUFFY donors can be secure in
knowing their gifts automatically go to 18 nonprofit
organizations throughout Montgomery County.
14. MUFFY allocated funds to over 18 nonprofit
organizations in 2016.
Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County
Boy Scouts: Crossroads of America Council
Montgomery County Youth Camps, Inc.
Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau
American Red Cross of West Central IN
Montgomery County Community Chest
Fuzzy Bear Preschool Ministry
Pam’s Promise Transitional Housing
The Salvation Army
15. MUFFY is the only nonprofit organization in
Montgomery County authorized to collect funds
through payroll deduction.
16. Payroll deduction authorizes your company to take a
small amount from your salary each pay period and
forward it to MUFFY.
17. MUFFY then distributes the funds to its partner
organizations every month, giving them a steady
stream of income with which to help those in need.
20. Fair Share: One hour’s pay per month
.6% of one month’s salary
1/160th of a month’s pay
Alternative share:
One hour of minimum wage per month
$7.25/month

We are occasionally asked, “What should I give?” We have an answer.
We suggest that you consider giving the equivalent of 1 hour’s pay per month. For salaried personnel that works out to be .6% of a month’s salary. It isn’t a very large amount when you consider that a work month has 160 hours without any overtime. Therefore MUFFY suggests you give 1/160th of a months pay each month through payroll deduction.
As an Alternative Share we suggest giving one hour of the minimum wage per month, $7.25.
You’ve been given a MUFFY brochure and pledge form. To make a payroll deduction pledge, please fill out the Donor Identification information on the left side of the pledge form. If you check the Payroll Deduction box, please enter the amount you would like to give to MUFFY each pay check and the number of pay periods in the year. You can also give a one-time gift via cash or check, or authorize MUFFY to bill you in installments.
At the right, you can specify where you would like your donation to be given. “Community Care” donations will be divided between MUFFY’s 18 Partner Agencies, while “Focused Care” can be directed to any nonprofit human service organization.
Please sign and date the form and turn it in to your Campaign Coordinator.
