(English follows) 私がMBAで学んだこと、学べなかったことを、MBA EXPO 2015 Summer でお話ししました。 http://bizacademy.nikkei.co.jp/special/expotokyo201507/ I spoke about what I learned and did not learn at business school (in Japanese). Here is the message: What I learned at Wharton MBA (1999) includes functional knowledge, my strengths or position among a wider peer group, and also that I am clearly not cut out for a finance career. However, the b-school environment structurally amplified thinking around what is right, expected, or prestigious, while leaving less room to explore what I like, what I am passionate about, or what my values are. In other words, the business school environment I experienced bred many insecure over-achievers. What I did not learn at b-school but did so later in life include a synthesis of functional knowledge, introspect of self, and time management (which is much more challenging when raising kids and maintaining a career).
