The Capacity Building Consultant reports to the Senior Regional RSD Officer. The Kenya
operation is now more than a year into the transition of RSD responsibilities to the
authorities in Kenya. The Capacity Building Consultant will be one of the key interfaces
with the Government of Kenya with regards to RSD transition issues.
The Capacity Building Consultant will carry out training for Government authorities and
other stakeholders on legal and procedural issues related to RSD and provide technical
advice to strengthen national asylum procedures. The incumbent will ensure appropriate
sensitization of all stakeholders is undertaken to enable a smooth transition of RSD
responsibilities to the Government of Kenya.
The Capacity Building Consultant will play a key role in the joint evaluation of the transition
process in compiling reports and contributing to the development of strategy for the
months to come to enable the Government authorities to responsibly and sustainably take
over the RSD responsibilities in Kenya at the end of the transition process.
