Tell your child you love her, it's
her behaviour you don't like.
Parenting is not always easy.
Stay positive!
38. Healthy Schools = Healthy Communities
Children who drink pop
are less likely to get
enough calcium and
vitamin D.
Drinking lots of pop is
linked to a higher number
of cavities.
Choose water or milk
instead.
40. Check the UV
index before going
outside.
A higher number
means the sun is
stronger and more
sun protection is
needed.
41. Healthy Families = Healthy Communities
Create rules and stick to
them.
Setting rules you don't
enforce will only confuse
your child.
Parenting is not always
easy. Stay positive!

much try screen

Drink boxes that say
“punch, ade, drink,

juice” or “100% pure fruit
juice from concentrate” for
real juice and a healthy
choice.
52. Be pet aware.
Move toward a pet with
a fist instead of an
open hand.
If the pet moves toward
the hand then gently

choice to go:
dry cereal, an apple and a
container of milk
cheese, a homemade muffin
and a 100% fruit juice box
yogurt with berries and
granola
69. Healthy Schools = Healthy Communities
Pop does not belong
in a lunch bag.
Pack water or milk.
70. Healthy Children = Healthy Communities
Choose healthy snacks to give
kids the energy they need to
play, grow and feel great!
Aim for at least 2 foods from
the 4 food groups.
Think 1 food and 1 drink, like:
a banana and chocolate milk
cheese, crackers and water
hummus, veggie sticks and
100% fruit juice
72. Be safe in the sun!
Minimize time in the sun
between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
when UV rays are the strongest.
Use sun protection even on
overcast days. Water, sand and
concrete can reflect and
increase the sun's burning rays.
