The document proposes a recursive addressing and routing scheme called NARA (Network Architecture with Recursive Addressing). Under NARA:
- Nodes are assigned recursive identifiers that include their site and subnet location.
- Interior routing occurs based on node identifiers, while exterior routing occurs on site addresses.
- A mapping process translates between node identifiers and network addresses to enable scalable routing.
- This approach allows for inherently scalable routing without address depletion or table explosion, as well as fast host/network mobility and multi-homing capabilities.
This document proposes a Network Architecture with Recursive Addressing (NARA). It includes the following key points:
1. NARA scales the internet by using local node addresses within autonomous sites and global site addresses for exterior routing between sites.
2. Interior routing uses local node addresses while exterior routing uses global site addresses, keeping the two orthogonal.
3. This approach allows for recursive scalability without address depletion or routing table explosion while enabling fast host and network mobility.
This document provides a short history of internet and ICT development in Korea from the 1980s to present. It describes key milestones and technologies such as the introduction of TDX systems in the 1980s, development of DRAM chips, adoption of ISDN, introduction of broadband internet via DSL and cable in the 1990s and 2000s, rollout of wireless technologies like WiBro and LTE, and ongoing work to deliver fiber internet speeds of 1Gbps. It also compares Korea's trajectory from ISDN to DSL to FTTC to FTTH with Japan's and notes Korea is catching up in fiber infrastructure.
This document discusses issues with Loc/ID separation approaches and proposes alternatives. It notes the explosion of routing tables due to IP address semantic overloading and examines Loc/ID separation as a potential solution. However, it argues Loc/ID approaches still result in renumbering issues during migration between networks. The document suggests using node IDs rather than interface addresses as End IDs and leveraging ISIS for routing within sites to avoid issues like those in Mobile IP. It questions whether End IDs need to be globally unique and proposes a recursive addressing scheme with names mapped to local End IDs and routes.
The document discusses challenges with the current Internet design and proposes alternatives that implement advanced features like quality of service at lower network layers rather than in the IP layer. It suggests approaches like circuit switching or hybrid switching that integrate circuit and packet switching could provide benefits like guaranteed quality of service while still being able to transport best effort internet traffic. The document also references work by IEEE on synchronized audio/video bridging as an example of implementing some of these ideas.
This document proposes a hybrid time-division multiplexing (HTM) switching architecture that combines circuit switching and packet switching. It aims to provide quality of service guarantees like circuit switching at lower cost by exploiting statistical multiplexing like packet switching. The key aspects are:
1) It uses synchronous time slots that can be allocated for either connection-oriented circuit traffic or connectionless packet traffic.
2) A hybrid switch classifies incoming traffic and inserts it into either circuit or packet slots, which are then cut-through switched.
3) This allows exploiting benefits of both paradigms like QoS and bandwidth efficiency at lower complexity than emulating circuits over pure packets.
The document discusses hierarchical global naming versus flat local addressing in network architecture. Global names have a hierarchical structure from specific to general domains, while local addresses are flat with no topological meaning. Late binding allows names to be resolved to addresses at a late stage, and network address translation (NAT) has become common practice. This architecture allows for minimal governance of names and none for addresses, as well as inherent scalability and local mobility.
The document discusses the future of the internet. It outlines how the core of the internet is based on TCP/IP protocols with a simple design of intelligent end devices and simple relaying routers (end-to-end principle). It questions if this simplicity may be too limiting as users demand more qualities like quality of service, security, etc. It explores ideas for a "next generation internet" or "future internet" that moves beyond incremental changes and embraces a clean slate redesign while balancing backward compatibility. The presentation calls for new ideas from students and researchers to help shape the future of internet innovation.

UTC/GMT. That translates to: 11:30 DST Prague(CZ), 11:30 DST Barcelona(ES), 5:30 DST
Miami(US), and 17:30 UTC/GMT Nantou(TW).
• This is produced by the Internet2 Arts & Humanities Group and the APAN eCulture WG and
organized by KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology(KR) in collaboration with the
Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) and CESNET association of Prague(CZ),
the Konic Thtr and i2CAT Foundation of Barcelona(ES), New World Symphony in

Concept
• During the APAN meeting, there have been cyber performances planed and presented by e-
Culture WG. The members of the performance team are trying to find the best solution to
overcome obstacles in performing arts over networks, such as a main-sub relation between
stages and/or actors due to network delay including latency, eye contact with actors, music
synchronization between remote sites, communication with audiences, and so on. One of the
things we try to do this time is a virtual stage which has only a screen including all performers
from remote sites in real-time with synchronized music.

The Seediq is one of the 14 officially recognized indigenes in Taiwan. It belongs to one of the three pan Atayal peoples,
namely Atayal, Truku, and Seediq. The pan Atayal have habituated around the northern half part of Central Mountains
ranging from Nantou to Taipei for thousand years. The pan Atayal people are lived sparsely in a form of tribal settlements.
Their language is one of the Autronesian. Their kinship system is bilateral. The Seediq people are mainly living in Nantou
mountainous area where the famous Sun Moon Lake is located.
Traditionally, the Seediq men, organized by the socio-cultural rule called Gaya (or Waya or Gaga), were responsible for
the warfare and animal hunting. The Seediq women were responsible for weaving, gathering and simple agriculture.
Consequently, the Seediq men were well known by their head-hunting practice.
In anthropological sense, the head-hunting practice became the rite of passage of manhood in Seediq society. The
practice maintained the inner solidarity of Seediq society. It also helped their survival when facing the threat from
surrounding tribes.
The “Seediq Bale” to be performed during the cyberperformance is an artistic presentation based upon their cultural
ideology of being a brave and authentic person. “Sediq” means “person.” “Bale” means “authentic and real.” “Seediq
Bale” means “the authentic and real person.” It is the core value of Seediq traditional cultural world views. Nonetheless,
it is a representation of cultural value and ideology of Seediq society.
The performers are all Seediq youth who are living in Puli township of Nantou. They are from “Yuan-Xing Performance
Group.” “Yuan” means “origins” and “Xing” means “transmission.” That is, they are committed to the transmission and
innovation of traditional Seediq culture through artistic performance. It may seem to be a performance of cultural of
nostalgia. Yet, the performers want to show their strength of survival to the world.
