Thank you for a wonderful year!
Enjoy these highlights of the work
you made possible in 2013.
Voter Education
(L) The League teamed up with ABC to host a U.S. Senate Primary
debate with the potential to reach every household in the state. We
worked to educate and register voters and ran our toll-free voter
hotline for an unprecedented 7 elections this year!
(R) The Bergen County Community College NAACP hosted a
screening of our gripping documentary “Storming for the Vote:
Hurricane Sandy and the Election.”
Advocacy
(L) League members and other supporters rally in Trenton to
demonstrate their fervent support of women and family
issues including earned sick days, equal pay, funding for
women’s health, and an end to human trafficking.
(R) League members rally to ban the disposal, discharge,
treatment or processing of fracking waste in our state.
Training
Your support enabled the League to offer a number of
trainings throughout the year including a course in effective
communications for community leaders and trainings on
lobbying and moderating debates.
Educational Forums
(L) Fall forum Keynote Speaker, Deborah Jacobs, wows the
audience with her address on remaking the women’s movement.
(R)LWVUS President Elisabeth MacNamara addresses the 2013
Convention delegation, and Keynote Speaker, Brennan Center
Attorney Myrna Perez, updates fellow members on important
news regarding critical national threats to our voting rights.
Networking
(L) The League held a gala to honor election officials and
voter education advocates who worked tirelessly during the
Hurricane.
(R) The League hosted a holiday party in our beautiful
Trenton office to elected officials and nonprofit leaders.
