This document is a collection of passages from the Bible and reflections on the uniqueness and preciousness of human life as created by God. It discusses how God created all things and how Jesus, as the Word of God, came to dwell among humanity. It emphasizes that every person is unique, made in God's image, and should not consider themselves unimportant. It encourages appreciating the gift of eternal life through Jesus and being involved in God's work of saving souls.
The birth of christ & the birth of a christianSam Ward
The document is a sermon that discusses the birth of Jesus Christ and the birth of a Christian. It makes three main points:
1. It discusses key facts about the birth of Jesus Christ from the Gospel of Matthew, including that he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, making him the Son of God and qualified to be mankind's sacrifice.
2. It explains that just as Jesus had to be born physically to become the Savior, Christians must be "born again" spiritually through faith to gain salvation.
3. It outlines how one enters the kingdom of God by exercising faith in Christ's provision of salvation, drawing on the biblical story of the bronze snake as an analogy for believing in God's
The document provides information about events at Assumption Cathedral for the week, including:
1) Celebrating Mother's Day and a Mother's Day lunch at the Pastoral Centre on Sunday.
2) Monthly Marian devotions at Argyle on Sunday led by the St. John's Choir.
3) A mass of thanksgiving on Thursday for contributors to the May Day Family Fair.
4) The annual Pentecost Rally at the Cathedral on Sunday with one mass at 7am.
5) Confirmation being celebrated on Saturday at the 6pm mass.
6) A Marriage Encounter weekend from Friday to Sunday in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The document discusses theories about the Second Advent or return of Jesus Christ based on interpretations of biblical passages. It explores different perspectives on whether the Second Advent will be a physical or spiritual event, and where it may occur. Specifically, it argues that Christ will return through being born in the flesh in an Eastern nation, not among the Jewish people as some believe, based on passages indicating he will come from the east. It also discusses theories about the meaning of Christ returning "on the clouds" and why Jesus used that language. The document analyzes different interpretations of prophecies around Christ's Second Advent in an attempt to clarify details about how and where it may happen.
The prophecy in Daniel 9 outlines a 70 week (490 year) timeline from the decree to rebuild Jerusalem until the final battle at Armageddon. Gabriel revealed to Daniel that there would be 7 weeks, 62 weeks, and 1 final week. Using biblical calendar years of 360 days, this equates to 483 years from the decree in 445 BC until Christ's death in AD 32, fulfilling the first 69 weeks. The final 7 year period is yet to be fulfilled and will begin with the Antichrist signing a peace treaty with Israel, breaking it after 3.5 years. This suggests the final 7 years could begin in 2026 with the battle of Armageddon in 2033. Understanding this prophecy is key to comprehending
1. The document discusses key differences between traditional Christian teachings about Jesus and the teachings of the Divine Principle. It explains that in the Divine Principle, Jesus was meant to establish God's kingdom on Earth by marrying and having a sinless family to create a pure bloodline, rather than dying on the cross.
2. It notes Jesus needed to graduate to the family level to fulfill his role as the Messiah/True Parent, but was unable to marry. His death on the cross instead established Christianity as the "second Israel."
3. The document compares traditional Christian beliefs about Jesus' resurrection, disciples, and forgiveness of sins to the explanations provided in the Divine Principle. It suggests some traditional Christian
This document discusses differing interpretations of Deuteronomy 22:5 regarding what clothing is appropriate for women. Some believe it prohibits women from wearing pants based on translations referring to "that which pertaineth unto a man." However, the original Hebrew words are examined and believed to refer specifically to a warrior's weapons and armor, not men's clothing in general. Alternative translations are provided that support this, noting the Bible does not clearly state it is sinful for women to wear pants. The document encourages focusing on one's heart rather than legalism over specific apparel.
The document provides an introduction and summary of Judges 1-3 from the Bible. It discusses how after Joshua's death, the Israelites did not fully drive the Canaanites from the Promised Land and compromised with their enemies. This led God to allow them to be oppressed by neighboring nations as punishment. Whenever the Israelites cried out to God for help, he would raise up judges to rescue them, but the cycle would repeat as the generations forgot God.

A message most Christians will not hear often. Some will never hear this in a church today. But persecution is coming to America—ready or not! Jesus promises us persecution. the Bible is full of examples and teaching on our call to suffer as followers of God.
This document examines evidence that Jesus is the Messiah based on his fulfillment of messianic prophecies, miracles, death, and resurrection. It outlines that Jesus fulfilled prophecies about his birthplace, life events, and manner of death. The document also notes Jesus' miracles are recorded even by non-Christian sources and argues this indicates he is more than a mere man. It concludes by asking the reader to consider the evidence and respond by either accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior or rejecting him.
This document provides a summary of spiritual visions received by the author regarding spiritual warfare, demons appearing in human form, and intense battles against forces from hell. It describes visions of three days of darkness coming to pass and intense prayer and fasting in response to demonic attacks. Tunnels of blazing holy fire are mentioned as a means of spiritual preparation for the battles. Various bible passages are referenced in relation to the prophesied events.

1) Jesus is God the Son and the creator of all things. He has authority over nature, healing sickness, and can command life and death.
2) As Lord, Jesus deserves our obedience to his commands in order to remain in his love and know God.
3) True believers will live as Jesus did through obedience to God's word.
TMIY - Becoming a Man after God's Own Heart - Week 24PDEI
This document outlines a Lenten program focused on encountering God's mercy. It discusses doing daily exercises, sacrifices, and examinations of conscience. It tells the biblical story of King David's sins and repentance, and how he became "a man after God's own heart." It also tells the story of St. John Bosco and emphasizes the power of a good confession. The document argues that to become like God, we must receive His mercy and practice mercy towards others. It provides a covenant focused on receiving the sacrament of reconciliation and helping one's family avoid sin.
The document discusses various ways that people, events, and objects in the Old Testament foreshadow or prefigure people and events in the New Testament. It provides examples of historical foreshadows, types and antitypes related to Abraham, the Exodus, the tabernacle and temple, and Old Testament festivals. It also summarizes many prophecies from the Old Testament and their fulfillment in the New Testament related to the Messiah and the Kingdom of God.
The Seal of the Living God, foretold so long ago in the Book of Revelation, is already here! It has been given to us by the Holy Trinity as an incredible gift to help protect us and our families in these turbulent times.

Other writings make great claims but contain no prophecy unique to them that establishes “truth"
The document examines evidence for Jesus being God, including prophecies about him from the Old Testament that were fulfilled, miracles he performed, and testimony from the New Testament and early Christians. It notes there were over 300 prophecies about the Messiah's first coming that were all fulfilled in Jesus. The odds of anyone fulfilling just 8 prophecies are 1 in 100 quadrillion, demonstrating the supernatural nature of the Bible. The document concludes the evidence confirms Jesus is God as he claimed.
1) A woman named L had been suffering from throat discomfort for years but doctors misdiagnosed her condition. She was eventually diagnosed with late-stage laryngeal cancer.
2) After prayers for healing, doctors decided against surgery and opted for chemotherapy and radiation instead. L endured a difficult treatment process with many complications.
3) L later confessed that her illness was brought on by her sin of engaging with horoscopes again after previously committing to stop. She sees her ordeal as God disciplining her in love to purify her of sin.
The true meaning of Christmas was explained to some children in a town with no Christmas spirit. Mr. Rad told them the story of Jesus' birth - how Mary was told by an angel that she would bear God's son, though a virgin. Joseph initially wanted to break off his engagement to Mary when he discovered she was pregnant, but an angel in a dream told him to marry her as the child was from God. Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem where Jesus was born in a stable, as the inn was full. Angels announced his birth to shepherds in the field. The children were inspired to spread Christmas cheer in their town.
The Claims, Prophecies and Miracles of Jesus 2012 ICEC UCLA Dr. John Oakesevidenceforchristianity
This power point is for a class given by Dr. John Oakes at the 2012 ICEC at UCLA October 20, 2012. The focus is on the radical claims of Jesus and why, based on the evidence from filfilled prophecy and the miracles of Jesus, a reasonable person will conclude that Jesus’ claims about himself are believable.
This introduction provides context for the book by explaining that the author will be taken in visions to heaven and hell to witness things firsthand in order to provide detailed accounts. It references biblical examples of prophets like Ezekiel, John, and Paul being taken up spiritually by God to experience visions of the spiritual realm. The author has accepted God's commission through the Holy Spirit to record what she sees in heaven and hell for the purpose of this book. She does not claim the same level of authority or revelation as biblical prophets but believes God has a purpose for revealing more details about the afterlife at this time in history as the end times approach.
This document discusses what Christians should do with money given by God. It recommends that believers 1) teach others about proper stewardship of money according to God's word, 2) use money to support the gospel through charitable giving and living for God's glory rather than wealth, and 3) as parents, diligently teach their children God's financial principles from the Bible.
The document discusses Christian giving and generosity. It notes that the average American Christian gives only 2.6% of their income annually, far less than what is biblically prescribed. It encourages readers to view themselves as stewards of God's resources and give generously, as their heart will follow their treasure. When Christians store up wealth in heaven through giving, they gain blessings and prosperity both in this life and the next.
Exponential 06 Pastors' Conference: The Treasure Principleeternalperspectives
The document discusses Christian giving in America. It notes that American Christians control 70% of global Christian wealth but the average Christian gives only 2.6% of their income. Less than 10% of Christians give 10% or more of their income as recommended in the Bible. Most of the little Americans do give goes to places it shouldn't. The document argues Christians should view themselves as managers of God's resources and store up treasure in heaven through generous giving that puts their heart in the right place with God rather than material possessions on earth.
A message most Christians will not hear often. Some will never hear this in a church today. But persecution is coming to America—ready or not! Jesus promises us persecution. the Bible is full of examples and teaching on our call to suffer as followers of God.

This document discusses the need for both grace and truth, arguing that truth without grace leads to legalism while grace without truth allows deception, and that Jesus embodied both perfectly. It concludes that for others to see Christ in us, they must see we have found a balance of both grace and truth.
The document discusses several parables told by Jesus relating to stewardship and finances. The key lessons are:
1) The parables teach that God owns all things and people are merely stewards of what He has entrusted to them.
2) Faithful stewards use their master's resources wisely and generously to benefit others until the master returns.
3) Stewards will one day give an account to the master and be judged on their faithfulness. The master expects stewards to manage resources well during his absence.
The document discusses various perspectives on fundraising and financing Christian ministry. It provides guidelines for fundraising emphasizing prayer over manipulative techniques, and cautions against measuring success by money raised rather than God's blessing. It also discusses integrity in fundraising methods and the importance of financial accountability.
Some people have given up on sexual purity while others have never tried, but the author argues that in today's culture of sexual impurity, purity is important to experience freedom and joy. The author claims that impurity will always be destructive whereas purity leads to fulfillment.
Drink The Water, Flee The Fire: TEACHING OUR CHILDREN SEXUAL PURITY BY FOCUSI...Thomas Ciesielka
Given the disappearance of biblical moral values beneath the cultural tidal wave of pornography, sexualized advertising, and the celebration of LGBT “rights” in the media and in corporate offices…what can a parent do? Rise up, moms and dads; it’s time to get serious about teaching God’s Word and eternal, unchanging values to our kids.
Materials for a five-week sermon series called "40 Days of Money" based on Randy Alcorn’s book Managing God's Money were created by Conrad Dueck, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Emo, Ontario, Canada. These Powerpoint presentations correspond with his full sermons. All of his materials are available at http://www.epm.org/resources/2011/Oct/16/mgm-resources-pastors/, subsection “Sermon Series Materials”.
Heaven will be an eternal place where people will exist in perfect spiritual bodies and spend eternity in God's presence. The author Randy Alcorn seeks to address common questions and misconceptions people have about what Heaven will truly be like through his work, hoping to shift perspectives on how Christians live their lives on Earth in light of eternity.
Jesus was both fully God and fully man. As a man, he had a real human body and experienced human temptations and suffering. He took on human flesh through the virgin Mary, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit without a human father. This allowed him to live a sinless human life and sacrifice himself as the perfect human substitute for our sins. His virgin birth fulfilled prophecies and showed that God can do miraculous new things.
The document is a collection of daily devotionals from various sources discussing the theme of trust in God. The devotionals explore how trusting God means relying on Him even during difficult times, challenges, and uncertainties. They point to biblical examples like Job who continued trusting God despite immense suffering. Overall the devotionals encourage readers to have faith in God's sovereignty, provision, and promise to use all circumstances for good.
This document discusses Jesus' dual nature as both fully divine and fully human. It explores biblical passages showing Jesus as God, including his pre-existence as the Word. It also examines verses demonstrating Jesus' human nature, such as being born of a woman and experiencing human needs like hunger. The document argues Jesus had to take on human form to overcome sin and death that began with Adam, and his victory allows believers to also overcome evil.
The document discusses confronting people about their spiritual priorities, especially when facing death or surgery. It warns against relying on psychedelic drugs or New Age practices instead of Jesus Christ. While a positive attitude can aid health, only faith in Christ offers eternal life. The Bible condemns sorcery and predicts deception through drugs in the last days. Believers must lovingly warn others from falling for this and help them find salvation through repentance and faith in Christ alone.
Lucifer rebelled against God and fell from heaven. He then tempted Eve and Adam, who fell from God by having an illicit sexual relationship. This original sin was passed down to all of humanity, resulting in ignorance, conflict between mind and body, and a state of misery. Jesus came to restore humanity by taking on the sins of mankind and establishing a new lineage. The Divine Principle explains that restoration requires reversing the course of the fall and re-establishing God's ideal through living for the sake of others.
Dr. John Oakes is taught a class on Answering the Hard Questions at the 2015 International Christan Evidence Conference at York College in York, Nebraska, June 19-21. He gave a brief overview of the Christian world view before launching into the Christian answer to the questions both believers and non-believers often struggle with, such as the Trinity, the problem of evil, the problem of suffering, the problem of violence in the Old Testament and the problem of Hell. Salvation is deliverance from sin and its penalty of eternal death, which is freely given through God's grace when received by faith alone. Grace is God's unmerited favor and love shown to sinners. Truth is found in God's word, the Bible, which reveals that Jesus paid the price for all sins of the world through his death. Faith appropriates what God has already freely provided through grace alone - that forgiveness and salvation are gifts, not dependent on works.

National Alliance for Life Conference Presentation 2021Peter Hammond
This document summarizes a presentation given by Dr. Peter Hammond at the 2021 National Alliance for Life Conference in Africa. The presentation discusses the need for Christians to take action against societal issues like abortion, pornography, and secularism rather than just preach the gospel. It argues that the Bible calls Christians to love their neighbor, which means confronting injustice through activities like protesting, campaigning for moral legislation, and exposing the "works of darkness." While sharing the gospel is important, Christians are also responsible for defending moral values in the public sphere and cannot stand by when others are harmed. The presentation aims to motivate Christians to get more involved in social and political issues rather than remain passive.
The document discusses man's need for a savior due to his sinful nature. It provides numerous bible verses to support this, showing that man is alienated from God, born in sin, with a wicked heart, under Satan's control, and dead in sin. Without a savior, man remains a sinner without hope of eternal life. The document asserts that Jesus is the savior that rescues man from this hopeless situation, that he died for man's sins and those who believe in him will have eternal life and forgiveness of sins. It emphasizes that one must believe in Jesus as savior to be saved.
The document discusses false doctrines and the true death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It makes three key points:
1) The author will not allow any false doctrines to spread, and argues that nothing should be added or subtracted from the true account of Jesus's death.
2) The conventional churches have falsely claimed Jesus died on a Friday and was in the earth for only two days and two nights, which does not match what is written in the Bible.
3) The truth of Jesus's three days and three nights in the earth must be documented to enlighten mankind, as the deliberate spread of falsehood must be exposed.
Sermon Slide Deck: "Your Kingdom Come" (Matthew 6:5-13)New City Church
Jesus teaches us to pray for the coming of God’s kingdom because if focuses our attention and desire on the restoration of all things and the Restorer of all things.

The document provides a summary of key themes and lessons from the Book of Job in the Bible. It discusses:
1. Job deals with the problem of human suffering and why a loving God would allow suffering. While Job questions God about his suffering, the book ultimately explains that evil and Satan are the source of suffering, not God, and that God cares for Job and will remedy his situation.
2. The existence of nature and logic point to there being a Creator God. The complexity and design seen in nature and the world could not have occurred by chance but require an intelligent designer.
3. While it is hard to accept God's goodness in the face of evil and suffering in the world, the final
The ‘pillar of cloud’ and extraterrestrial mentions of the kj bibleMartin Semugeshi
This document contains an introduction by Martin Mutabazi Semugeshi about prophecies and spiritual gifts. Some key points made include:
- The world is ending as revealed by God's spirit, with great changes coming both spiritually and physically.
- There is a "war on terror" happening between good and evil, Satan and God, rather than just between countries. True Christians will be considered terrorists.
- When Jesus returns, he will come for the 144,000 and swiftly judge the world in righteousness. The author is ready to give their life for what they know to be true.
ABORTION- killed before being born (Biblical/Scientific view)- Part 3Antonio Bernard
This document discusses when life begins and the dangers of abortion from biological and religious perspectives. It provides several quotes and passages from scripture and other sources to argue that:
1) Life begins at conception, as supported by biology and scripture.
2) Abortion endangers the life of the unborn child and can have serious medical consequences for the mother's health.
3) Loosening restrictions on sexual relationships and promoting abortion contributes to the decline of societies and civilizations, according to historical studies. Strict monogamy and prohibiting abortion is correlated with greater social progress.
1. The document discusses various ways that Christians can be "delivered" both in the Old and New Testaments, such as being delivered from Satan to God, from error to truth, and from darkness to light.
2. Key Bible passages are presented showing how believers have been delivered from sin and wickedness, from the fallen world, and from fear, being transferred to God's kingdom and eternal life through Christ.
3. All forms of deliverance, salvation, and redemption are bound to Jesus Christ, who destroys the works of the devil and is himself the truth, the light of the world, and the source of righteousness, security, and eternal life.
This document discusses how Jesus Christ is central to the Old Testament through various means:
1) Messianic prophecies that foretell Jesus' coming.
2) References to the "Angel of the Lord" who displays both physical and divine attributes, suggesting he is a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus.
3) The use of the Hebrew word "Son" to refer to the second person of the Trinity, showing Jesus' role throughout the Old Testament as God's representative.
Session 6 Overcoming Hindrances to Fulfilling Your DestinyOs Hillman
This document summarizes a session on overcoming hindrances to fulfilling one's destiny. It discusses four primary hindrances: 1) an unbiblical view of work and ministry that separates sacred and secular, 2) the influence of Greek philosophy over Hebrew roots that prioritizes intellect over heart, 3) a religious spirit that maintains the status quo, and 4) generational strongholds and childhood wounds. It emphasizes that spiritual warfare involves recognizing and demolishing strongholds, which are developed through seeking to meet needs apart from God, in order to experience God's love freely.

The document discusses biblical passages related to sexual purity and morality. It provides numerous quotes encouraging believers to flee sexual immorality and lust, honor their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit, and remain faithful in marriage. The quotes also teach that God understands human temptation but provides a way of escape, and that Jesus can empathize with human weakness through his own experiences with temptation.
Exponential 06 Pastors' Conference: The Treasure Principleeternalperspectives
The document discusses several key points around Christian giving:
1. American Christians give a small percentage of their income to the church compared to what is biblically recommended. Increased giving could provide $140 billion more per year for God's work.
2. Where one puts their money shows where their heart is. Christians should give generously to heaven by prioritizing the kingdom of God over earthly possessions.
3. A negative view of heaven, often from misconceptions, prevents many Christians from looking forward to the new earth and hinders their walk with God. They should view heaven as the fulfillment of God's promises.
4. Giving is the only antidote to
Exponential '06 Pastors' Conference: The Treasure Principleeternalperspectives
The document discusses Christian giving in America. It notes that American Christians control 70% of global Christian wealth but the average Christian gives only 2.6% of their income. Less than 10% of Christians give 10% or more of their income as commanded in the Old Testament. The document argues Christians should view themselves as stewards of God's resources and store up treasure in heaven through generous giving that puts their heart in the right place and sees the new earth, not this world, as their true home.
The document discusses the importance of how Christians handle money and give generously. It emphasizes that pastors must lead by example in their own giving and challenge their congregations to give beyond just tithing. When church leaders and members excel in generous giving motivated by God's grace, it can transform the church's impact and bring joy.
Exponential '06 Pastors' Conference: The Treasure Principleeternalperspectives
The document discusses Christian giving in America. It notes that American Christians control much of the world's Christian wealth but give very little, with the average Christian giving far less than 10% of their income. Younger Christians give even less proportionally. It argues that Christians have misplaced priorities in how they spend their money and that their lack of generous giving hurts the church, missions, and their own spiritual growth. It encourages Christians to view themselves as stewards of God's resources and give more generously to store up treasure in heaven.
The document discusses the importance of how Christians handle money and give generously. It emphasizes that pastors must lead by example in their own giving and challenge their congregations to give beyond just tithing. When church leaders and members excel in generous giving out of gratitude for God's grace, it can transform the church's impact and bring joy.
The document discusses various perspectives on leaving inheritances to children from religious texts and prominent figures. It cautions that large inheritances can destroy ambition and virtue in children. Instead, parents are encouraged to leave children with moral character and skills rather than just money and wealth. The document also provides advice on training children to be good stewards of money and generous givers.
1) The document discusses the dangers of debt and advises living within one's means by depending on God for provision rather than taking on debt.
2) It encourages saving modestly for future needs but warns against hoarding wealth, as one's treasures should be in heaven, not on earth.
3) The document provides biblical principles for avoiding debt, getting out of debt, saving, spending, and ensuring one's resources are used to help those in need.
The document discusses perspectives on helping the poor from religious texts and figures. It provides numerous biblical passages about showing mercy and generosity to the poor, needy, widows, and orphans. It also discusses how the early church supported believers in need and cared for the poor. However, it cautions that assistance should not enable laziness and that the able-bodied poor should work to meet their own needs when possible.
The document discusses biblical passages about eternal rewards for believers. It notes that believers will be rewarded according to their works and faithfulness to God. There will be different levels of reward in heaven based on how believers lived on earth, including crowns for overcoming trials and making disciples. The rewards will far outweigh any suffering endured for Christ and motivate Christians to serve wholeheartedly.
The document presents multiple Bible verses that indicate God will judge all people based on their deeds and works, not just on faith alone. God searches people's hearts and minds, and will repay each person according to what they have done. All will stand before God and be judged for the good or evil things done in their life. The quality and motivations of each person's works will be revealed and tested by fire, and people will be rewarded or suffer loss based on whether their works survive. The goal for Christians is to please God by the good or evil done in their earthly body, as all must stand before Christ to be judged.
The document discusses the concept of giving and generosity from a Christian perspective. It argues that true giving comes from understanding God's grace, and that Christians should excel in giving just as they excel in other areas of life. The document encourages readers to consider how they can increase their giving and make it a priority before the end of their lives.
The document discusses biblical perspectives on money, possessions, and generosity. It provides several "keys" or principles: 1) God owns everything and we are merely stewards of what he provides. 2) Where we put our money reveals where our heart is and determines where it will go. 3) Heaven, not earth, is our true home. 4) We should live not just for short-term pleasures but with an eye to eternal rewards. 5) Giving is the only remedy for materialism and selfish desires. 6) God blesses our generosity not to raise our standard of living but to increase our standard of giving.
The apostle Paul would disagree with Prosperity Theology based on several biblical passages. Paul suffered greatly for spreading the gospel, as did other apostles and early Christians. Jesus and his disciples lived in poverty and humility. The Bible warns that wealth can become a snare and distract from God. True prosperity comes from God and should be used to help others and spread the gospel, not for personal gain.
The document discusses materialism from both biblical and practical perspectives. It provides numerous biblical illustrations of how materialism and greed were condemned, such as with characters like Achan, Gehazi, and the rich young ruler. It argues that materialism prevents spiritual life, brings unhappiness and anxiety, and always ends in futility, as riches cannot fill what only God can. Happiness does not consist in abundance of possessions but in seeking God's kingdom first.
The document contains multiple Bible passages about money and wealth. It discusses Jesus observing a poor widow donate her last coins, while many rich people donated large amounts. It notes the poor widow gave more despite her poverty. It also describes a rich fool who stored up wealth for himself but was not rich toward God. God tells the fool his life will be demanded that night, and then who will get what he prepared. The document asks how we would counsel the poor widow and rich fool, and how their worldviews differ from ours.
The document discusses the persecution and suffering of Christians throughout the world and throughout history. It provides statistics on the number of Christians killed for their faith each day and countries where Christians face persecution. It discusses how Christians should respond to persecution by standing firm in their faith, resisting evil, and finding comfort and strength in God. It also notes that persecution is promised for those who follow Christ and live godly lives.
Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

2. Children are a gift from the
LORD; they are a reward
from him.
(Psalm 127:3–4).
3. See that you do not
look down on one of
these little ones. For I
tell you that their
angels in heaven always
see the face of my
Father in heaven
(Matthew 18:10).
4. But Jesus called the children to
him and said, “Let the little
children come to me, and do
not hinder them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to
such as these” (Luke 18:16).
5. Your Father in heaven is not
willing that any of these little
ones should be lost
(Matthew 18:14).
That’s one good reason to talk about
abortion.
6. “First, I want to
thank my Lord
and Savior Jesus
Christ.”
7. In the Philippines in 1986, Pam Tebow
contracted amoebic dysentery, possibly
from contaminated drinking water. She
fell into a coma and received strong drugs
to fight the infection.
It turned out she was pregnant with her
fifth child.
8. The drugs caused the placenta to detach
from the uterine wall, depriving the “fetus”
of oxygen.
When it was realized that she was pregnant,
doctors stopped the drugs but said that the
high doses of medicine had already damaged
the “fetus.”
9. According to the
doctor, the “mass

“tumor”—me—

Tim Tebow,
Through My Eyes.
10. Timmy was born Aug. 14,
1987. The doctor said to
his parents: “Only a small
part of the placenta was

enough to keep your baby
nourished all these
months.”
11. Pam Tebow:
“We were concerned
at first because he was
so malnourished.”
But suppose the
doctors had been right.
12. The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his
mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who
gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it
not I, the LORD?” (Exodus 4:11).
13. “I oppose abortion except in
cases of rape, incest and danger
to the life of the mother.”
14. Should the baby be punished for the
father’s sin? Don’t inflict upon the
innocent child rage against the rapist.
The violence of abortion parallels the
violence of rape. Regardless of the
motive, the strong brutalize the weak. A
child is a child, regardless of the sins of
her father.
15. Abortion does not bring healing to a
rape victim. It does nothing bad to the
rapist and nothing good for the woman.
Creating a second victim doesn’t undue
the damage to the first. Feminists for
Life: “Some women have reported
suffering from the trauma of abortion
long after the rape trauma has faded.”
16. “Woman meets child born out of rape, given
up for adoption 77 years ago,” Associated

17. Luke 1The angel said to her, “Do
not be afraid, Mary; you have
found favor with God. You will
conceive and give birth to a son,
and you are to call him Jesus….
18. “How will this be…since I am
a virgin?”
The angel answered, “The
Holy Spirit will come on you,
and the power of the Most
High will overshadow you. So
the holy one to be born will
be called the Son of God.”
19. “Elizabeth your relative is going to
have a child in her old age, and she
who was unable to conceive is in
her sixth month…”
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary
answered. “May your word to me
be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.
20. At that time Mary got ready and
hurried to a town in the hill country
of Judea [8-10 days], where she
entered Zechariah’s home and
greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth
heard Mary’s greeting, the baby
leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth
was filled with the Holy Spirit.
21. In a loud voice she exclaimed:
“Blessed are you among women, and
blessed is the child you will bear! But why
am I so favored, that the mother of my
Lord should come to me? As soon as the
sound of your greeting reached my ears,
the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
(Luke 1:29-44)
22. Summary: After the angel left, Mary
hurried (v. 39) to get to Elizabeth.
Unborn John the Baptist (in his sixth
month after conception) responded to
the presence of unborn Jesus inside
Mary. Allowing for travel, Jesus was no
more than eight to ten days beyond
conception when this happened….
23. Implantation doesn’t begin until
6 days after conception, and
remains incomplete till 12. Jesus
was not fully implanted in his
mother’s womb when unborn
John responded to his presence.
24. In Luke 1, a fetus named John
responded to the presence of a
blastocyst (pre-embryo), named
Jesus.
25. In the beginning was the Word and
the Word was with God, and the
Word was God….The Word became
flesh and made his dwelling among
us. We have seen his glory, the glory
of the One and Only, who came
from the Father, full of grace and
truth (John 1:1,14).
26. When did the Word
become flesh? When did
He leave heaven and
come to earth?
At concep-tion. Christ’s
incarnation came 9
months before Christmas.
27. Scripture repeatedly shows
life begins before birth:
The babies [Jacob and
Esau] jostled each other
within her [Rebekah]
(Genesis 25:22).
28. In the womb he
[Jacob] grasped his
brother’s heel; as a
man he struggled
with God
(Hosea 12:3).
29. Your hands shaped me
and made me. Will
you now turn and
destroy me?
Remember that you
molded me like clay.
30. Did you not …clothe me with
skin and flesh and knit me
together with bones and
sinews? You gave me life and
showed me kindness, and in your
providence watched over my
spirit (Job 10:8–12).
31. For you created my inmost being; you
knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made.... My frame was not
hidden from you when I was made in the
secret place….
32. When I was woven together in
the depths of the earth, your
eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be
(Psalm 139:13–16).
33. Before I formed you in
the womb I knew you,
before you were born I
set you apart; I
appointed you as a
prophet to the nations.
(Jeremiah 1:5)
34. Surely I was sinful at birth;
sinful from the time my
mother conceived me.
(Psalm 51:5)
35. Who Wants Us to Believe Lies re:
Abortion?
[The devil] was a murderer from the
beginning, not holding to the truth, for
there is no truth in him. When he lies,
he speaks his native language, for he is
a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

41. God hates the shedding of
innocent blood.
And for your lifeblood I will surely
demand an accounting. ... from each
man, too, I will demand an
accounting for the life of his fellow

LORD your God is giving you as your
inheritance, and so that you will
not be guilty of bloodshed
(Deuteronomy 19:10).
43. Defend the cause of the
weak and fatherless;
maintain the rights of the
poor and oppressed.
(Psalm 82:3)
44. Speak up for those who cannot speak
for themselves,
for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and
needy.
Proverbs 31:8-9
45. If I profess, with the loudest voice and the
clearest exposition, every portion of the truth of
God except precisely that point which the world
and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am
not confessing Christ…. Where the battle rages
the loyalty of the soldier is proved; to be steady
on all the battle-field besides is mere flight and
disgrace if he flinches at that one point.
Character named Fritz, in a 19th Century novel about Luther and the
Reformation, by Elizabeth Rundle Charles
46. “Some stay away from that service every year.
Abortion is politics, and laying on guilt.”
Why talk about abortion?
• To save the lives of children God loves
• To prevent people from a lifetime of regrets
• To offer healing to those who’ve
experienced it, both women and men
47. One out of every 5 American women
getting an abortion claims to be born
again and/or an evangelical Christian.
Most of those are associated with a
Bible believing local church, many
attend regularly. The problem isn’t just
our country, it’s our churches.
48. How many hundreds at Good
Shepherd have gotten abortions?
(How many GS men have gotten them
pregnant?) How many in our church
will get an abortion in 2012?
What are we doing to prevent this?
Can we do more?
49. Grace is not being silent about sin. It is
not ignoring sin. God didn’t ignore sin.
He exposed its horrors on the cross. He
took those horrors on himself so that
people can turn to Him, confess their
sins and be completely forgiven and
free. For God’s glory and for their good.
50. God offers forgiveness to all who
repent and turn to Christ in faith:
The wages of sin is death, but the
gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
51. God made him who had no
sin to be sin for us, so that in
him we might become the
righteousness of God
(2 Corinthians 5:21).
52. God does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities. As
far as the east is from the west, so far has
he removed our transgressions from us. As
a father has compassion on his children, so
the LORD has compassion on those who
fear him (Psalm 103:10, 12–13).
53. If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just and will
forgive us our sins and purify
us from all unrighteousness
(1 John 1:9).
54. Therefore, there is now no
condemnation for those who
are in Christ Jesus.
(Romans 8:1)

57. The King will reply,
“Truly I tell you,
whatever you did for
one of the least of these
brothers and sisters of
mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:40
58. Five minutes after I die, what will I
wish I’d have done for Christ on behalf
of the helpless [unborn, disabled,
victims of sex traffic] while I still had
the chance?
59. For each of us and our church:
Why not spend the rest of our
time here closing the gap
between what we’ll wish we
would have done, and what we
are doing?
