Position Description:
Execute user research, concept testing, and usability testing to support HCSC’s user-
centered design approach for web sites and application development
Execute user research and usability efforts in support of major projects, ongoing
initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and operational enhancements
Work closely with others to ensure interface integrity and standards and with
management to support other user experience initiatives
Required Qualifications:
Two to five years of experience with usability concepts and various qualitative and
quantitative user research methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of web technology and knowledge of latest changes and developments in
the industry
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments
Strong project management skills
Excellent people and organizational skills and the ability to build effective working
relationships
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with HTML prototyping
Participation in local or national usability organizations
Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct ethnographic research
Facilitate and observe research activities, including card sorts, usability tests, contextual
inquiry, focus groups, and interviews
Analyze results and compile findings and recommendations
Present findings to project teams and stakeholder groups
Develop, analyze, and document information architectures, wireframes, process flows,
and navigation structures
Collaborate with business owners to develop content strategies
Support outreach efforts to promote usability and user-centered design
Work closely with business users, developers, and designers
