Israel’s unique position in the Middle East as a center of equality for all gets highlighted when the annual Gay Pride festivities kick off in Tel Aviv for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities.
Voted the world’s best gay travel destination1, Tel Aviv will host over one hundred thousand tourists with events co-sponsored and supported by Tel Aviv city hall. Known as Israel’s cultural and economic capital, Tel Aviv embodies much of Israel’s new and pioneering spirit while retaining its heritage.
Tel Aviv, Israel’s cultural and economic capital, is a vibrant Mediterranean city and embodies much of Israel’s new,
pioneering spirit, while holding onto its antique heritage.
In July 2003, UNESCO declared Tel Aviv “The White City” for its “unique, historical architecture.” There are over 1,500
buildings marked for historic conservation.
Lonely Planet recently named it one of the world’s “top ten cities in 2011,” highlighting its progressive mindset
Since Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip, neighboring
Israeli cities and towns have endured an
increased bombardment of rocket attacks. Iranian-
backed terrorist groups in Gaza have fired nearly
13,000 rockets towards Israel in the past decade,
the majority of which were launched after Israel’s
2005 withdrawal from Gaza.
More than 1,000,000 Israelis live within range of
rocket and mortar attacks. The arsenal is growing,
and many of the rockets are long-range. Israel has
managed to minimize casualties by investing hundreds
of millions of dollars in civil defense. Despite
this, once air-raid sirens are triggered by incoming
rockets, civilians only have from 15 to 60 seconds
to run and reach safety before the rockets explode.
In the past six years rockets fired from Gaza have
killed 44 Israelis and wounded over 1,600 more.
You are taking off from the municipal airport in Herzliya, just 10 km (6.2 mi.) north of downtown Tel Aviv. Since Herzliya’s establishment by European refugees in 1924, this seaside town has grown to 85,000 residents and is home to one of Israel’s largest high-tech industrial parks. On June 11, 2002 a Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up in a small restaurant in this city, killing 14-year old Hadar Hershkowitz and wounding 15 others.
From Herzliya you will head east toward the outskirts of Tel Aviv over the city of Kfar Saba. Kfar Saba is only 700 meters (less than ½ mile) from the West Bank town of Qalqiliya. The Al-Aqsa intifada broke out in Qalqiliya in October 2000. Hamas also won major support here in the 2006 Palestinian legislative elections.
There’s trouble brewing. The Trump Administration and GOP-controlled Congress have joined old-line lobbyists to wipe out regulations that protect our environment, our workplace safety and our financial system's integrity—purportedly to help business. Responsible business leaders know better. Government regulations keep big firms from foisting their costs onto smaller firms and taxpayers, let the market choose winners fairly, reward healthy innovation and give companies of all sizes a chance to grow. Broadly shared prosperity, the market economy and democracy itself depend on fair regulation.

Many are declaring that 60/40 is a bad mix because bonds are riskier than they have ever been. But stocks are also extremely risky. Add likely inflation to the mix and it's big time scary. We'll discuss what do on 4/20/21 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsKGK7IY9ls

Two Years Later: The real story on the Iran Nuclear DealThe Israel Project
Friday marked the second anniversary of the announcement of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the landmark nuclear agreement reached between a U.S.-led group of six world powers and Iran. On this anniversary, we ask: was the deal a success?
The answer is a resounding “no”. Iran is using the agreement as a domestic tool of oppression and as an instrument of terror abroad. Over the past two years, the Islamic Republic has repeatedly tested the limits of the deal and has also pursued a much more aggressive military campaign across the Middle East, confirming the worst fears of the JCPOA’s critics.
