INTERIOR DESIGNER GALINA MAKSIMOVA recommended minimalism trend in design and architecture wherein the subject is reduced to its necessary elements. Minimalistic influenced design philosophy and Highest Technology Infrastructure in architecture.
Modern, minimalist architectural designer focus on the connection between 2 perfect planes, elegant lighting, and careful consideration of the void spaces. More attractive minimalistic home designs are not truly minimalistic, because these use most expensive building materials: concrete, natural stone, stainless steel, glass. and finishes and are larger. In minimalist architecture, interior design elements convey the message of simplicity. The basic geometric forms, elements without decoration, simple materials and the repetitions of structures represent a sense of order and essential quality. The movement of natural light in buildings reveals simple and clean spaces. High walls create the enclosed space and the stone floors used in house and courtyard show the continuality of interior and exterior. Concepts of simplicity transmit the ideas of freedom and essence of living.

This document discusses intelligent building management systems (IBMS). It defines IBMS and outlines their key components and architecture. An IBMS centrally monitors and controls building systems like HVAC, lighting, security, and more. The document lists benefits of IBMS such as energy savings, cost reductions, improved safety and security, and increased tenant comfort. It also discusses some common issues with intelligent buildings, such as perceived high costs but also evidence they improve efficiency and are attractive to tenants.
This document discusses intelligent buildings. It begins by noting that buildings account for large amounts of electricity usage, CO2 emissions, raw material usage, and waste in the United States. Intelligent buildings aim to provide energy management, indoor comfort, and reduce these environmental impacts through automation and advanced building systems. The document then outlines the history, goals, features, models, technologies, and case study of an intelligent building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It concludes that intelligent buildings can adapt to changing markets through improved flexibility, worker satisfaction, energy efficiency, and cost savings over the lifetime of the building.

Lorvon 3E homes are real family homes for the remotest parts of Australia John Young
Lorvon 3E homes are designed for Indigenous families with flexible spaces, high ceilings, and large rooms and verandahs. They use durable materials and high environmental standards, and can be erected quickly using local labor at a dramatic savings over the total cost of ownership compared to other designs. The homes provide better health, community, and pride in ownership through durable design, easy construction, high comfort standards, and not needing air conditioning.
Paper prototyping involves creating rough sketches of user interfaces on paper to test design ideas early in the development process. It allows representing screens and flows without coding to get quick feedback. Paper prototypes are effective for brainstorming, usability testing, and design exploration before committing to an implementation. While rough, paper prototypes provide a low-fidelity, low-cost way to evaluate designs and iterate before full development.
2009 AIA Wisconsin Design Awards EntriesBrenda Taylor
The document lists 71 design award entries from the 2009 AIA Wisconsin Design Awards. The entries include various building types and projects such as police stations, healthcare facilities, schools, hotels, and residential buildings from locations across Wisconsin and other states. This document summarizes an integrated assessment of water level variability and coastal bluff erosion in northern Milwaukee County and southern Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. A team of investigators from multiple universities studied how changing Lake Michigan water levels impact the stability of coastal bluffs. Through interviews and analysis, the team identified issues like shore protection structures and vegetation management. They developed preliminary response options and engaged communities to gather input. The project aims to increase bluff resilience to potential increased water level variability and storms through adopted policy alternatives and adaptive actions.
The document lists winners of design awards from the Association of Licensed Architects in various categories. The top award, the Presidential Award, was given to Metea Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois, designed by DLR Group. The Gold Medal winners included homes, religious buildings, and schools. Silver Medal winners also spanned multiple categories such as residential, religious, and institutional buildings. Merit Awards recognized additional projects across categories such as residential, commercial, institutional, interior architecture, and unbuilt designs.
