2. LightValue enum
Write a simple Enum named LightValue, which lists the phases a particular stoplight lane may
be in. These states should include GREEN, RED, and LEFT_SIGNAL (we are considering
yellow to be part of green). Each TwoWayRoad instance (defined below) will have its own
LightValue, which should correspond to the following rules:
GREEN indicates that the right and middle lanes may proceed, but the left lane cannot (for both
directions).
RED indicates that no lane may proceed (for both directions).
LEFT_SIGNAL indicates that left can proceed, but the right and middle lanes cannot (for both
directions).
Cars in a particular lane may proceed (dequeue one car per time interval) when it is their turn to
go, according to the rules above. If you still need help with Java Enum types, you can read about
them in this Java tutorial.
3. Vehicle Class
Write a fully documented class named Vehicle. This class represents a car which passes through
the intersection. Each instance must contain the serialId (the first car to arrive at the intersection
is serialId 1, the second car to arrive is serialId 2, the n'th car to arrive will have serialId >n) and
the time it arrived (stored as an int). The car must be initialized with a serialId and the time it
arrived. The serial counter is static and stores the number of vehicles that have arrived at the
intersection so far. It is the only variable that is modifiable.
The Vehicle class itself is actually immutable. This means once it has been constructed, no data
within the instance can be changed (the static serialCounter can and should be incremented on
each constructor call). From the UML diagram, note that the public constructor takes all the
member variables as arguments. Data can still be read via the getter methods.
private static int serialCounter = 0
private int serialId
private int timeArrived
public Vehicle(int initTimeArrived)
Brief:
Default Constructor. You should automatically increment the serialCounter, and set the serialId
to its new value.
Parameters:
initTimeArrived
Time the vehicle arrived at the intersection.
Preconditions:
initTimeArrived > 0.
Throws:

If initTimeArrived 0.
4. VehicleQueue class
Lanes in our simulator will be modelled as a Queue of Vehicles. You may implement a Queue of
vehicles however you like, and are encouraged to use any Java API class you prefer. Remember
that the VehicleQueue class must implement the following methods in order to comply with the
Queue ADT:
void enqueue(Vehicle v)
Vehicle dequeue()
int size()
boolean isEmpty()
Note: If you decide to use a Java API class to implement VehicleQueue, you must use
inheritance (extend a Java API class) to simplify the class definition.

14.1 Defining Money by Its FunctionsMoney is what people in a soci.pdfchughakshit42
14.1 Defining Money by Its Functions
Money is what people in a society regularly use when purchasing or selling goods and services.
If money were not available, people would need to barter with each other, meaning that each
person would need to identify others with whom they have a double coincidence of wantsthat is,
each party has a specific good or service that the other desires. Money serves several functions: a
medium of exchange, a unit of account, a store of value, and a standard of deferred payment.
There are two types of money: commodity money, which is an item used as money, but which
also has value from its use as something other than money; and fiat money, which has no
intrinsic value, but is declared by a government to be the country's legal tender.
14.2 Measuring Money: Currency, M1, and M2
We measure money with several definitions: M1 includes currency and money in checking
accounts (demand deposits). Travelers checks are also a component of M1, but are declining in
use. M2 includes all of M1, plus savings deposits, time deposits like certificates of deposit, and
money market funds.
14.3 The Role of Banks
Banks facilitate using money for transactions in the economy because people and firms can use
bank accounts when selling or buying goods and services, when paying a worker or receiving
payment, and when saving money or receiving a loan. In the financial capital market, banks are
financial intermediaries; that is, they operate between savers who supply financial capital and
borrowers who demand loans. A balance sheet (sometimes called a T-account) is an accounting
tool which lists assets in one column and liabilities in another. The bank's liabilities are its
deposits. The bank's assets include its loans, its ownership of bonds, and its reserves (which it
does not loan out). We calculate a bank's net worth by subtracting its liabilities from its assets.
Banks run a risk of negative net worth if the value of their assets declines. The value of assets
can decline because of an unexpectedly high number of defaults on loans, or if interest rates rise
and the bank suffers an asset-liability time mismatch in which the bank is receiving a low interest
rate on its long-term loans but must pay the currently higher market interest rate to attract
depositors. Banks can protect themselves against these risks by choosing to diversify their loans
or to hold a greater proportion of their assets in bonds and reserves. If banks hold only a fraction
of their deposits as reserves, then the process of banks lending money, re-depositing those loans
in banks, and the banks making additional loans will create money in the economy.
14.4 How Banks Create Money
We define the money multiplier as the quantity of money that the banking system can generate
from each $1 of bank reserves. The formula for calculating the multiplier is 1/reserve ratio,
where the reserve ratio is the fraction of deposits that the bank wishes to hold as reserves. The
quantity of m.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

In an education system, it is understood that assessment is only for the students, but on the other hand, the Assessment of teachers is also an important aspect of the education system that ensures teachers are providing high-quality instruction to students. The assessment process can be used to provide feedback and support for professional development, to inform decisions about teacher retention or promotion, or to evaluate teacher effectiveness for accountability purposes.
This slide is special for master students (MIBS & MIFB) in UUM. Also useful for readers who are interested in the topic of contemporary Islamic banking.
Strategies for Effective Upskilling is a presentation by Chinwendu Peace in a Your Skill Boost Masterclass organisation by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan on 08th and 09th June 2024 from 1 PM to 3 PM on each day.
