The Italian route of the river is entirely
protected by two regional parks, which are
collectively the largest river park in Europe:
The Lombard Park of the Ticino Valley, created
in 1974, covers 91,140 hectares, of which 21,740
urbanized where the action of the park is
limited;
The Valle del Ticino Naturals Park, created in
1978, covers 6,250 hectares forming a narrow
band along the right bank of the river.
From the Bronze Age the Ticino Valley was the
cradle of civilization known as an important
culture of Golasecca. Ticino also was the scene
of a victory of Hannibal in the Second Punic
War (218 BC), and in 1810 we committed
suicide the patriot and man of letters Francesco
Lomonaco. In 1848 the first move of the Royal
Piedmontese army against Austria, who started
the first war of Italian independence.
In 2002 the Ticino Valley was established as a
"Biosphere Reserve" within the UNESCO
program Man and Biosphere, therefore is
counted among the assets or to protect World
Heritage.
Ticino is an important river of southern
Switzerland and northern Italy, the main
tributary of the Po for water volume and by far
the second river Italian for water flow. Ticino
measuring a total of 248 km long and is one of
the cleanest rivers in Italy.
The Natural Park of the Ticino Valley Nature
Reserve is the Piedmontese of the Ticino River,
which borders the Lombard Park of the Ticino
Valley. The reserve was established in 1978 and
includes eleven municipalities of the province
of Novara. The park headquarters is located at
the estate Villa Stakes, in the municipality of
Cameri. The area has also been established the
Site of Community Ticino Valley.
Il percorso italiano del fiume è interamente
protetto da due parchi regionali, che formano
nell'insieme il più grande parco fluviale d'Europa:
il Parco Lombardo della Valle del Ticino, creato
nel 1974, copre 91.140 ettari, di cui 21.740
urbanizzati dove l'azione del parco è limitata;
il Parco Naturale della Valle del Ticino, creato nel
1978, copre 6.250 ettari formanti una banda
stretta lungo la riva destra del fiume.
A partire dall'età del bronzo la Valle del Ticino fu
culla di un'importante civiltà nota come cultura di
Golasecca. Inoltre il Ticino fu il teatro di una
vittoria di Annibale nella seconda guerra punica
(218 a.C.), e nel 1810 vi si suicidò il patriota e
letterato Francesco Lomonaco.
Nel 1848 della prima mossa del regio esercito
piemontese contro l'Austria, che diede inizio alla
prima guerra d'indipendenza italiana.
Nel 2002 la Valle del Ticino è stata istituita quale
"Riserva della Biosfera " all'interno del programma
Man and Biosphere dell'UNESCO, pertanto è
annoverato tra i beni o Patrimoni dell'Umanità da
tutelare.
Il Ticino (Tessin in tedesco e in francese, Tisín,
Tesìn o Tzìch in lombardo e in piemontese) è un
importante fiume della Svizzera meridionale e
dell'Italia settentrionale, il principale affluente del
Po per volume d'acqua e in assoluto il secondo
fiume italiano per portata d'acqua. Il Ticino
misura complessivamente 248 km di lunghezza ed
è uno dei fiumi meno inquinati d'Italia.
Il Parco Naturale della Valle del Ticino è la riserva
naturale piemontese del fiume Ticino, confinante
con il Parco Lombardo della Valle del Ticino.
La riserva è stata istituita nel 1978 e comprende
undici comuni della provincia di Novara. La sede
del parco è situata presso la tenuta Villa Picchetta,
in comune di Cameri.
Nella zona è inoltre stato istituito il Sito di
interesse comunitario Valle del Ticino.

to Novara; Typical products are
specifically like Novara wine (whose
production dates back to Roman times),
honey and bread.
Wine production excels with red DOCG,
produced from Nebbiolo grapes and
Vespolina, one of about 40 wines DOCG
existing in Italy, but beyond that are
produced several other DOC wines of the
Novara Hills, including a white’s variety.
Novarais synonymous with excellence in
the field of production of honey and has
joined together with 9 other Italian cities,
the National Association of Italian "The
City of Honey." Typical products Novaras
are Acacia honey, among the best and
purest of Italy, and the wildflower.
Professional beekeepers are 6, plus 3
nomadisti, for a total of 600 hives and 20
tons of average annual production.
For several years Aspromiele, the
Beekeepers Association of Novara,
HoneyNature and the Municipality
organized a Novara and around a
competition to encourage the production
of quality honey and enhance the typical
Piedmont’s products.

bellezze storiche si puo assaporare la
cucina tipica che è quella novarese;
prodotti tipici di Novara sono
specificamente il vino (la cui produzione
risale ai tempi dei Romani), il miele e il
pane.
La produzione vinicola eccelle con il
rosso DOCG, prodotto da uve nebbiolo e
vespolina, uno dei circa 40 vini DOCG
esistenti in Italia, ma oltre a questo
vengono prodotti diversi altri vini DOC
delle Colline Novaresi, tra cui anche una
varietà di bianco.
Novara è sinonimo di eccellenza anche
nel campo della produzione di miele ed
ha aderito, insieme ad altre 9 città
italiane, all'Associazione Nazionale
Italiana "Le città del Miele". Le
produzioni tipiche di Novara sono il
miele d'acacia, tra i migliori e più puri
d'Italia, e il millefiori. Gli apicoltori
professionisti sono 6, più altri 3
nomadisti, per un totale di 600 arnie e 20
tonnellate di produzione media annua.
Da alcuni anni Aspromiele,
l'Associazione apicoltori novaresi,
Mielenatura e il Comune organizzano a
Novara e dintorni un concorso per
incentivare la produzione del miele di
qualità e valorizzare le produzioni tipiche
piemontesi.
