The 165th Air Control Wing provides E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) aircraft for command, control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance support. Based in Georgia, the wing has been continuously deployed since 9/11, flying over 82,000 combat hours. In 2011, the wing transformed into an active associate construct with the 461st Air Control Wing to form "Team JSTARS." In the past year, Team JSTARS supported five combatant commanders in five regions, meeting all 141 tasked sorties over Libya. The wing provides logistical, security, and medical support both overseas and domestically.
