TR ANSFER ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
The admissions process at the University of Utah promotes student success by assessing
student preparedness and academic potential in the context of each applicant’s personal
experience. Transfer applicants will be considered for admission after meeting all of the
following requirements:
•	Previous graduation from an accredited high school or the equivalent (e.g. GED).
•	A cumulative GPA of 2.6 or higher. Students who have an associate of arts or an
associate of science degree from a regionally accredited institution may be admitted
with a 2.35 GPA or higher.
•	Applicants who have fewer than 30 semester hours completed at the time of
application are also required to submit an official high school transcript and official
ACT/SAT test scores using school code 4274 for ACT and 4853 for SAT.
•	For additional admissions guidelines, contact information for your Admissions
Counselor, and more about the transfer admission process, visit admissions.utah.

TR ANSFER APPLIC ATION PROCESS
1.	 Visit campus: admissions.utah.edu/visit
2.	 Apply for admission by November 1 for priority consideration for Spring Semester 2017,
and by February 1 for priority consideration for Fall Semester, 2017.
3.	 Pay the non-refundable application fee of $45.
4.	 Submit official transcripts from every university or college you’ve attended to the
Office of Admissions. Please allow a couple of weeks for processing.
5.	 Track your application at admissions.utah.edu/track. Final admission decisions will
be mailed on a rolling basis.
6.	 If you haven’t already, complete the 2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) by November 1, 2016, at fafsa.gov. Already done? Update your file using
school code 003675 for the University of Utah.
7.	 Beginning October 1, 2016, use 2015 tax information to complete the 2017-18
FAFSA. Complete your file by February 1 for priority consideration.
8.	 Apply for housing at housing.utah.edu starting February 10.
9.	 Confirm your intent to enroll and pay the $150 enrollment deposit at admissions.
utah.edu/confirm.
10.	Register to attend a transfer student session of New Student Orientation, starting in
the spring. Orientation is required for all incoming students. Be sure to schedule
an appointment with an academic advisor in advance.

TR ANSFER LEAP PROGR AM
Transfer Leap is a one-semester program designed to integrate transfer students into
the University of Utah. It also takes care of a general education requirement. For more

TR ANSFER STUDENT ORIENTATION
All admitted transfer students must attend a mandatory New Student Orientation, where
they learn more about campus life, degree and graduation requirements, and meet with
an academic advisor to register for courses. The Office of Orientation sponsors additional

and university sources. Scholarships for transfer students are only available for fall semester,
but there are several available. Make sure you meet all posted deadlines to receive maximum

TR ANSFER ADMISSIONS CRITERIA The admissions process at the University of Utah promotes student success by assessing student preparedness and academic potential in the context of each applicant’s personal experience. Transfer applicants will be considered for admission after meeting all of the following requirements: • Previous graduation from an accredited high school or the equivalent (e.g. GED). • A cumulative GPA of 2.6 or higher. Students who have an associate of arts or an associate of science degree from a regionally accredited institution may be admitted with a 2.35 GPA or higher. • Applicants who have fewer than 30 semester hours completed at the time of application are also required to submit an official high school transcript and official ACT/SAT test scores using school code 4274 for ACT and 4853 for SAT. • For additional admissions guidelines, contact information for your Admissions Counselor, and more about the transfer admission process, visit admissions.utah. edu/transfer. TR ANSFER APPLIC ATION PROCESS 1. Visit campus: admissions.utah.edu/visit 2. Apply for admission by November 1 for priority consideration for Spring Semester 2017, and by February 1 for priority consideration for Fall Semester, 2017. 3. Pay the non-refundable application fee of $45. 4. Submit official transcripts from every university or college you’ve attended to the Office of Admissions. Please allow a couple of weeks for processing. 5. Track your application at admissions.utah.edu/track. Final admission decisions will be mailed on a rolling basis. 6. If you haven’t already, complete the 2016-17 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by November 1, 2016, at fafsa.gov. Already done? Update your file using school code 003675 for the University of Utah. 7. Beginning October 1, 2016, use 2015 tax information to complete the 2017-18 FAFSA. Complete your file by February 1 for priority consideration. 8. Apply for housing at housing.utah.edu starting February 10. 9. Confirm your intent to enroll and pay the $150 enrollment deposit at admissions. utah.edu/confirm. 10. Register to attend a transfer student session of New Student Orientation, starting in the spring. Orientation is required for all incoming students.
