This document contains data on childcare availability in different regions of Britain in 2013 and 2014. It shows the percentage of eligible children able to access childcare for different age groups, including children aged two or under, three and four year olds, school-aged children, disabled children, rural children, and children of full-time working or atypical working parents. Availability was highest in Scotland, parts of England, and lowest in Wales, with wide variability between regions and age groups. For example, while 54% of eligible three and four year olds in Scotland could access childcare in 2014, the rate was only 17% for the same age group in Wales.
