The document discusses biblical principles of church leadership. It argues that in the church, Christ alone should be recognized as the singular leader, not any individual pastor. Church leadership should operate as a team of elders (pastors) discerning the will of God together through prayer, study, and seeking unity in what the Holy Spirit says to the church. Important decisions are made by consensus of the pastoral team, not by any single individual. This model of shared leadership helps prevent abuse of power and ensures mutual accountability.

1. What Does It Mean to be a Disciple of Jesus? KeynoteWilliam Anderson
This is the first of four sessions of our "Being and Making Disciples" workshop held in Sacele, Romania on September 1, 2012. In this session we answer the question "What Does It Means to be a Disciple of Jesus?". We did this by first looking at what the word "disciple" means and then looking at what Jesus, Peter and Paul had to say about being a disciple and then we finished by looking at Jesus' life to learn from His example. English with Romanian translation.
"This study seeks to explore, mainly from a biblical perspective, the entire scope of prayer. The goal is not merely to provide academic understanding, but the higher purpose of developing a corp of people who pray and who therefore make a difference for God in the world. As (we) are burdened and inspired to pursue dligently an active prayer ministry, (we) will enrich our lives, impact (our) our ministry to Christ and His Church, and consequently generate waves of spiritual influence to the ends of the earth." This is the first of an 13 week study
From www.evangelismcoach.org Presentation given for the Evangelism Dunamis about the role of the Holy Spirit in Evangelism. How can we see the Holy Spirit bringing a person to Faith in Christ and empowering witnesses to share their faith.
This presentation was made to the Gathering of Leaders [GOL]. The GOL is a group of young leaders who get together to share study, pray, and share best practices about their ministry and vocation within the Episcopal Church.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

11 biblical leadership - not leader jan egil gulbrandsen jan. 2015 - 1
1. Biblical leadership
There is no leader (singular)
in the church
but Christ
By JanEgil Gulbrandsen
Updated
March

2. The church is not built
on a corporate model
of “a leader” (singular)
on top
as if it was a business.
3. Jesus – by The Holy Spirit
is to be
the only church leader (singular)
4. Church leadership
on a local level, should
always be operating as
team leadership (plural)
The bible calls it elders (plural)
never elder (singular)
6. The Holy Spirit
always speak in unison to
“the church”
Yes – He also speak to individuals –
evangelists and church planters.
End when the church is established, he
puts in elders (pastors)
7. If you are not familiar with the term
elders and prefer the modern term,
it is:
Pastors – or pastor team,
never
a one man show
of a single pastor
(or single elder model)
8. The pastors lead from
the round table
(signaling equal importance)
where “all” the gifts
are represented
(see list later)
9. Decisions are made
as the Spirit always speak the same
to all and leaders come to a
unanimous description
Sometimes this can take time, but after seeking the Lord,
- after conversations, studying the Word, prayer,
and being focused on
“what the Spirit is saying to the church”,
the right decisions will be made.
10. Why did God want it this way:
Mutual accountability
No man is above temptation
- temptation to sin –
or temptation to feed his own ego
by executing power.
11. Remember:
Christ is in all of us.
Christ speak to all of us.
It is His church.
Together we hear from Him
and do His work
as He leads us (plural)
12. Until the church
get back to the New Testament
leadership model,
Christ will not be able to lead the
church as intended.
13. The days of middleman
between God and man
(men of flesh and blood)
is over.
(the only middleman between the
Father and man, is Christ)
16. If the leadership choses to have a
presepotor (leadership coordinator,
facilitator or chair person)
- that’s fine.
17. Question: "Is there a biblical spiritual gifts list?"
Answer: There are actually three biblical lists of the “gifts of
the Spirit,” also known as spiritual gifts. The three main
passages describing the spiritual gifts are Romans 12:6-8; 1
Corinthians 12:4-11; and 1 Corinthians 12:28.
The spiritual gifts identified in Romans 12 are prophesying,
serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leadership, and mercy.
The list in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 includes the word of wisdom,
the word of knowledge, faith, healing, miraculous powers,
prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, speaking in tongues
with interpretation of tongues. The list in 1 Corinthians 12:28
includes healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
These gifts should be represented in the church leadership –
the church board.
18. The church board – executes “the pastor’s vision”
The Pastor.
( the one who hears from God
and tells the people)
19. The church board – executes “the pastor’s vision”
